If one is not using rechargable battery packs for a long period of time is it better to charge them fully and store them away or drain them of charge?

No clues?
forumites must have rechargable batteries of some discription if not camcorder batteries. The instructions you get with them don't mention how to store them for long periods, in fact you either get no instructions or very minimal instructions.
You charge them fully b4 storing, recharge them every 6 months. Camcorder batteries discharge all the time whether you use them or not. Store a flat camcorder battery for more than 6 months & it will not recharge ever again.
In my 5 years in electrical retailing I lost count of the amount of people saying their camcorder batteries didn't work simply because they didn't charge them after coming back from holiday, special occasions etc, & they wanted to buy new ones straight away because they were going to use their camcorder again the following day or even the same day!
