Watched this film again on Sky Cinema the other night - i'd forgotten how brilliant it was. Anyone know of a decent dvd floating around of it.. or any news of a SE in the pipeline?

The only one i've found is a R1 pan&scam with zero extras :oh-hum:

No SE is planned. If it’s any consolation Landis approved of the current DVD in an interview on www.thedigitalbits.com as it’s his preferred cut.

I think you'll find that it is presented in an "open matte" format, rather than pan and scan.

Comparing a TV screening with my old laserdisc (1.85:1 ratio) showed a fair bit of extra information top and bottom. Just because a film is 4:3 ratio doesn't automatically mean that it has been cropped - in this case the reverse is very much the case.

Great little film. Easily as good as "American Werewolf in London" IMO.

Has anyone picked up the new Unrated german dvd?? Its the unrated cut with more gore over the R rated version, Plus it also has 3 deleted scenes.
Whats the quality like?? English soundtrack? etc.
