The question is will they make Blu-Ray players DVD compatible - I remember hearing a rumour (can't remember where) that they would be. If they do then at least we'll still be able to play our little babies.
Once blu-ray comes out and companies start selling blu-ray movies I wonder how long it'll be before the first 2 disc set comes out? ;)

The "next" generation of DVD.
Whilst not an expert, I know that the primary difference is that the laser is blue and not red (like the current players). With this new laser and a higher density media the storage quantities increase to all-new hights.
I sure that other members will be able to give a more in-depth explanation :)

The dvdforum has agreed that they will definitely be compatible with DVD's.

Wooo! It has a LOGO! The sign of something becoming REAL and not just a lab experiment. :)
