Did anyone see this brilliant German short film on Channel 4 last night?
It's only 10 minutes long, and shot in the style of a 1970's industrial training video in which Klaus gets his forklift driver's licence and begins his first day on the job. For the first 3-4 minutes you really believe it's a genuine safety film, but then it enters Peter Jackson territory as nothing seems to go right for poor Klaus. Cruel but informative accidents happen, multiple body parts get lopped off, and blood spurts all over the place. Finally Klaus really loses his head
The film is extremely gory but also very funny, especially the narration and the short animations that describe what to do and what not to do to stay safe on the job. If only all 'Safety at Work' films were made this way!
It's available on DVD in Germany, but sadly it has no subtitles. You can also find it on *cough* Kazaa/Edonkey (again without subtitles) - search for the German title "Staplerfahrer Klaus"
There are afew screen shots from the DVD

Perhaps the most shocking thing about the film is that it proves the Germans do have a sense of humour :D
