My top bet of the day is MOTHERWELL to beat Dundee @ 10/3.
Earlier in the week, Dundee had 10 players suffering from a virus, and there was talk of getting the game postponed. They have now recovered, but it surely won't help them. Add that to the fact that there is precious little between the teams at the best of times, Motherwell just have to be backed at huge odds.
My local team, Falkirk, have 100% home record, but their best player, Kevin James, is out for 8 weeks following an operation. If any team is going to end their excellent home record it's INVERNESS, top-priced at 9/4.
STIRLING should be too good for Gretna at home (4/5), and I'll be on CHELSEA at 6/4 to beat Middlesboro.
The roll-up on the four teams comes out at over 50/1, and I've got £30 on it, but I'm covering with doubles and trebles. I've also got a £60 single with Ladbrokes on Motherwell.
I'm not doing the horses today, but in the last race at Wolverhampton tonight ILLUSIVE is a massive price at around 20/1.
Go get 'em guys..............;)
Well, a complete nightmare for me on the football today....(down £120).....:shocker: .......the only good thing about todays games is the form that my team (Glasgow Rangers) are showing. It's the best Rangers team that I've seen for many a long year, and if the bookies would show 2/1 againI would shove another grand on them to win the SPL. (they are a stone-wall certainty)
However, it's off to Wolverhampton now, and I'm looking for a big run from GERI ROULETTE in the 5.30. ..........I mean the 7.00
Just put my bets on for tonights game.
1-1 £1 @ 11/2
Bolton HT/Leed FT £1 @ 28/1
Leeds HT/Bolton FT £1 @ 28/1
Bolton 2-1 Leeds (Djorkaeff FG) £1 @ 50/1
FG 31-40 mins £1 @ 6/1
Bolton 1-1 Leeds (Fowler FG) £1 @ 33/1
2 or 3 goals in the game £2 @ 11/10
£8 in bets, let's see how much I get back :D
BTW,if there is a booking in the first 10 minutes then all first goal scorer and correct score bets are refunded (@ Sporting Odds  )

Had £100 on Blackburn tonight at odds of 2.1, which was nice :)
Now more nervous than my first day at school, as I "only" need Liverpool to beat Villa tomorrow to collect on my acca.
Fingers crossed...
-edit-
Well, I wimped out and stuck £108 on Villa, and £92 on the draw, so what ever happens tonight, I'll be in profit.
Villa: £108 bet returns £297
Liverpool: £40 acca returns £987
Draw: £92 returns £294.
Outlay: £240, gauranteed profit of £54 to £737.

Carlisle vs Scunthorpe
Scunthorpe @ 6/4
Inter vs Bari
Inter @ 2/5
Colchester vs Cardiff
Cardiff @ 10/11

Wolves @ 8/5

Also had £15 on us (Sheff Wed) to win away at Grimsby @ 9/5, after seeing us hammer Gillingham last week and still somehow not score after having over 20 shots on goal :shocker: and still come away with another defeat, i think a thrashing is on the cards for someone and i reckon Saturday is the day
If we are still doing top bets then that one is mine  but bear in mind i do have a blinkered view and accept no responsibility on us losing whish is also a very possible outcome :( :D
C'mon the Owls
PS If he plays have a quid on Leon Knight to bag the first :smokin:
Again same rules as before :D
I tend to win when I don't tip on here. Had a few quid on Diego Forlan to be first scorer the other night @ 7/1, so my weekend betting will be free. C'mon Moggie, I need some good Scottish football tips!
Morton & Inverness are my Scottish bankers every week now

Well slip, how's this for a coincidence?......Yesterday was my first day on a new job in Edinburgh (large building site) and in the canteen I was sat next to three steel-erectors from Sheffield. Guess what?.....they were all big 'Owls' fans and said excactly the same thing as you did........get on the 'Owls' on Saturday! When you live in Central Scotland like I do, you don't meet many 'Wednesday' supporters, so, that chance meeting combined with your post on here, makes them my bet of the day too......I got £80 at 9/4 (Victor Chandler)
Up here in Scotland, Aberdeen have just stolen Inverness CT's manager, and will no doubt lure away their best players, so I'd advise not betting on Inverness right now. (although they will surely win tomorrow, but at 1/3, not worth it)
MORTON, as usual, will feature in my selections, and RAITH are expected to beat Stranraer. I also fancy ST.JOHNSTONE and MONTROSE.
Tonight, just to liven up the games, I've taken them all to be draws! ......(£1 Lucky 15)

Yes but you failed to tell your fellow gamblers that you also predicted the following today (in the prediction comp) but you didn't bet on it did you :nono: :nono:
Arsenal 2 - 0 Middlesbrough

Okay, I must have had too much christmas spirit, I have just put £5 on England to win the fourth test @ 11/1.
You must have some faith in the England team then, because there is no way you are going the you are going to at least get your £5 back.
Was having a ***** betting day, but I backed Moggie's favourite Bressbee at 10/1 to end the day all smiles (on the betting front at least!!) And it could have ended far better - Everton screwed me out of a 68/1 accumulator:shocker:
I had a good day myself (won £300) but, like you nc, it could have been a WHOLE lot better. Had a fiver e/w treble on the last three races at Wolverhampton.......BRESSBEE (won at 9/1).......REMEDY (won at 9/1).....and FAILED TO HIT (2nd at 5/2)........The win part of the bet would have thrown me £1750!.....:oh-hum:
Everton also blew my 16/1 treble on the football:oh-hum:
Still, can't complain, so it's back into battle again today! Looking for big runs from WHITE PLAINS (12.20 Southwell) and DIAMOND LOVER (2.30 Southwell) ;)
£1 yet again on:
Villa
Blackburn
Charlton
Everton (Draw)
Fulham (Draw)
Leeds (Draw)
Man Utd
Soton
Newcastle
Arsenal
Pays £1154.33
£8 on:
Man Utd
Blackburn
Wigan
Hartlepool

Does anyone know of online bookies that are taking
bets on premiership managers losing their jobs this
season, I have been given a whisper by a very reasonable
source who has yet to fail me and I wanna make a small
investment !
TIA
Edit.. my weekend bets...
10p super heinz wins £144.18
Middlesbrough to win Aston Villa v Middlesbrough
Blackburn to win Blackburn v West Ham
Charlton to win Charlton v West Brom
Everton to win Everton v Bolton
Manchester Utd to win Manchester Utd v Birmingham
Southampton to win Southampton v Sunderland
Leeds to win Leeds v Chelsea
and
20p heinz wins £174.54
Gillingham to win Gillingham v Wimbledon
Rotherham to win Rotherham v Millwall
Stoke to win Stoke v Sheffield Wed.
Wolves to win Wolves v Bradford
Draw on Grimsby v Norwich
Leicester to win Watford v Leicester
Best bet of the day in Scotland is ALBION ROVERS to beat East Stirling at 8/15 with Hills, quite simply because East Stirling are surely the worst team in the world! ST JOHNSTONE are also good value at 4/7 with the same firm to beat Alloa. My treble will be completed with BRISTOL CITY at 6/5, who are unbeaten in their last 10 visits to Stockport.
One team to consider at big odds, 7/2, are ARBROATH, as Ayr have serious injury problems, and what about slip's team SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY at 5/2, to continue their winning run!
On the horses, I'm betting only on the one today.....FAR PAVILIONS in the 2.45 at Musselburgh.
Good Luck :)

Not sure of online but quite a few of the major bookies will give you odds on most anything if you phone them.
Try calling a few of the big name bookies (Will Hill,Ladbrokes,etc..) and you should be sorted.
Now can you email me who it is please ;)

Without going into too much detail it's the french
geezer at Anfield.
If the odds are nice & long then I will be sticking a few
bob down that he isn't in charge next season. I have
been told the only thing that will keep him employed is a
Major trophy or Champs league qualification.
It is a very good source that supplied me but make your
own decision, don't blame me if the tip turns out to be pants.
(source VERY high up in club) Did you know I had a relative
at Anfield ? shame it's not Goodison with me being an
Everton supporter :(

Thing is tho, when i bet on them to win they lose and on boxing day i backed agaisnt us and we won   i do fancy us to win, but again we out shoot our opposistion in virtually every game but we cant score  so i know we are capable of winning and winning easily cos this was our first game and we should of won easily but their keeper was outstanding, so in the end i MAY have a tenner on em:p

The betting thread on page 2
Well, last day of the year, so I'm going to have a right good punt.
Pat Eddery is one winner short of his century, so it's odds-on that he'll get it today on a rare visit to Wolverhampton.
The one I like best is ENGULFED in the 1.40, but it might pay to do an each-way permutation covering all his rides.
At Cheltenham, HIS NIBS will take all the beating in the last race.

Well, I hope no-one followed that advice! At least now I know why Eddery doesn't visit Wolverhampton much.....he has no idea how to ride the track. :oh-hum: The horses he was riding would have had more chance with a sack of spuds on their backs!
Still, thanks to me having £20 on HISTORG at Cheltenham, I ended the day only £30 down. It could have been a lot worse!
Looking forward to the football tomorrow though, and here are the first 3 teams to mark down on your coupon......STIRLING ALBION (if they fail to beat East Stirling it's a fix).....ST JOHNSTONE (same comment applies if they don't beat Arbroath)....and RAITH ROVERS (ditto).........That treble works out at a shade under 4/1 with Hills, and surely provides us with a great chance to start the new year on a winning note.
Good Luck, as always, and a happy new year to you all. Let's make 2003 a bad one for the bookies.

Had two long shot accas today, one was let down by the Saints winning, the other by Everton equalising.
Both required a Liverpool win tonight, so they'll proabably score a hatful just to rub it in.
Had £5 on Beckham to score first goal today, and because fg was an own goal his goal counted @ 9/1.
Also had £5 treble at 7/1 on Man Utd, Portsmouth and Liverpool to win. Sounds like Pompey are going to let me down though.
Have had £5 on Diouf @ 8/1 to score fg tonight, plus £1 on 3-3 and £1 on Bellamy to score fg and Liverpool to win 3-2 @ 200/1 and Murphy to score fg and same scoreline for 175/1.
Also had £5 on Trescothick to be top English batsman in 1st innings @ 4/1.

OK betting guru's, I need a sure fire bet to be able to extract my £10 free bet from one of the ipoints betting places. My initial £10 was lost, half on Bellamy first to score and the other half on Liverpool to win on Sunday (it was a comfort bet, Newcastle lose, win some money, Newcastle win, what's ten quid?).
Actually, if there are any sure fire results (e.g. Arsenal Vs Minnows United or whatever) this weekend, it may be worth doing all the ipoints bettinbg links this week.

hello - i'm new to the online betting game so be nice to me :D
Opened my first account today and placed the following:
£10 acca to return £206.59 on.........
Man U v Portsmouth
Arsenal v Oxford
Chelsea v Borough
Scunthorpe v Leeds
Walsall v Reading
Villa v Blackburn (could be the killer :gag: )
And tagged on the end for some reason, taylor to beat smith in the darts (this was left in by mistake  but is near enough guaranteed). I'll get the hang of it!
---------------
Also £10 free bet on a 2-0 to Manu scoreline @7/1
I'm using my £10 free Ladbokes bet on the following:
Leeds@2/7
Wigan@6/4
Raith@1/3
Clyde@1/2
Possible Returns £64.29
Fingers Crossed
I don't get too heavily involved in the football on cup days, as I usually get slaughtered, so I'm going only for a few small bets on some big-priced teams who would appear to have more of a chance than their odds suggest. STIRLING ALBION are playing well, and worth chancing at 4/1 to beat Stanraer. EAST FIFE lead their division, and are 5/2 to beat Hamilton, who are next to bottom in theirs....and playing badly. I just can't seem to let Saturdays go by these days without backing SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY, so here we go again! 7/2 seems a fair price.
On the horsey front, CZAR WARS 3.05 Southwell, is my top bet of the day.
The best advice I can give today though, is to buy the 'Racing Post'.........it's worth £1.30 for page 67 alone! :notworthy :notworthy
A big gamble by my standards. I've put £40 on Leeds, Ipswich, Arsenal, Charlton and Manchester United to win today.
Fingers crossed.
Just had another accu :)
£3 on:
Sheff Utd
Bournemouth
Brentford
Gillingham
Leeds
Wigan
QPR
Pays back £317.39
Moggies, Chris Turner is saying locally, that the league is more important and he wont risk half fit players in this game if it could make them worse for the next league game and we already lost down there, if it had been played tody 3 players would of been dropped, in my opinion ( which is awful when it comes to us :D :D ) id be glad with a draw and get them back here, but then again 7/2 is a nice price  :D

Charlton to win Charlton v Exeter
Ipswich to win Ipswich v Morecambe
Leicester to win Leicester v Bristol City
Norwich to win Norwich v Brighton
Preston to win Preston v Rochdale
Leeds to win Scunthorpe v Leeds
Sheffield Utd to win Sheffield Utd v Cheltenham
Everton to win Shrewsbury v Everton
Burnley to win Grimsby v Burnley

they haven't really got any other goalscorers

Just back from the bookies/pub, and learned that your loan players (inc. Proudlock) are not allowed to play.......so I've given them a miss today. Hope they win for you slip, tho.
The Scots teams I fancied are not playing coz of the weather, so I've done a £50 double on WIMBLEDON and ALBION ROVERS.
Also, £50 on CZAR WARS. If I get a result, I'm gonna bet SPURS later on.
Oh, and couldn't resist having £20 on the big gamble of the day, GREEN IDEAL, 2.40 Lingfield.......
I've just stuck a tenner on sunderland at 23/10
(sticking Arsenal and Ipswich in to ramp up the odds)
seems a fairly sensible bet with Bolton playing their reserves

Why would you bet against your own team? :D
Every week at Hillsboro, i always have a quid or two on a Wednesday player scoring first, even tho at the minute we cant stop the away team scoring within the first 10 mins:(

Mr Dubby most bookies are only accepting bets on the Golden Globes at the moment,so the Oscars will follow I dont think they're till the end of March IIRC.

West Ham will win today. Shearer's suspended for Newcastle and the Hammers have to get a league win at home sometime.

For my bet on the other three Internazionale don't kick-off until 7.30pm, AEK won 6-0 and PAOK won 4-0. Fingers crossed - come on Inter!!
Inter won so I made £30 profit which can't be bad. That about £120 in the last 7 days. My lucks going to run out soon.

You ever tried using Betfair? Odds are far better on basically everything and bets are settled 10-20mins after result is known (usually).
Congrats on your wins
Thanks and I plan to set up an account with Betfair as they're offering Ipoints and a free £10 matched bet. I even posted it in the Bargain forum - just haven't got round to doing it yet.
£22 on PSG, Marseille, Real Madrid, Deportivo and Lazio.
Potential win of £116.19.
This free bet, i take it you can get to it thro the ipoints website?
A free £10 may stick on a Sheffield Utd win tonight, i would love it if they didnt, but 3/1 is very generous in my opinion as they are the form team in the division.

Anway, the Tennis season is upon us and a good time to consider the multpile accumulator bets - last year I was staking £1 accas on the outcomes of games which were pretty much dead cert outcomes and 9/10 they'd come off to the tune of £20-£30 so worth a look see
Disclaimer: Of course results like Capriati's recent failure are possible and bets can go down as well as in:D

When you want to do an on line accumulator, just select more than one team and it should take you from there.
Nice to see another new face in here Ferris
As slip has already said, most online bookies do accumulators and it is just a case of picking which bookie you prefer to use.
I usually use Sporting Oddds
OK, my team are on tv tonight (Cardiff), so gone a bit mad and had the following bets:
Rob Earnshaw to score fg @ 15/2 = £5
Earnshaw to score hat-trick @28/1 = £2
Earnshaw to score fg and 2-2 @90/1 = £1
Earnshaw to score fg and 3-3 @ 405/1 = £1
P Thorne to score fg and 2-2 @ 100/1 = £1
Final score to be 3-3@66/1 = £1
Double Result:Cardiff/Draw@16/1 = £2
As you can see, I rate Earnshaw pretty highly!

Right, if I don't get a return from this it's the last bet of the holiday for me.........WENSLEYDALE LAD in the first race at Wolverhampton today. Been waiting for this one after watching it win around xmas time. It had no chance from an impossible draw last time, but must surely be in the shake-up today. I only had £1.50 in my betting account, so I put it on one speculative bet. Two appealed to me:
United to score 5 or more @10/1
RVN to get a hat-trick@16/1
In the end I decided to go for the latter... gutted!

Anyone tried Betfair? Opened an account with them, you can be the bookie if you want and lay the odds your willing to pay out, i had a go Saturday, not laying but had a £5 on Man Utd scoring the next goal after about 83 mins, only got 2/1  so withdrew me winnngs and ill be staying clear of that one
It will be your loss then. Seriously, if you are looking to make a profit from betting then Betfair is a must. I use it lots & you will often beat the bookies prices, not always but often, don't forget to factor in the comission you will pay on your winnings.
If you thought 2/1 was bad why did you place the bet?? You should not be placing a bet if you do not think the odds are in your favour.
Some markets do not have enough liquidity as yet so that is why you will sometimes find you can't beat some bookies odds
