If there was a big budget live-action Transformers movie being made, what sort of thing would you like to see in it? Thanks.

All the original 1984/1985 Transformers, before they lost sight of the original concept of robots in disguise. After 1985, the toys became plastic rather than metal, and moved away from cars, planes, and everday objects. :dork:

Decent special effects.

Dinobots! Grimlock Grrrrrrrrr!!!!

Those Energy cubes (forgot the name?)

Original cast doing voices

And the original theme (or the series 2 theme which I prefer) and the music that always accompanied the Decepticons when they were up to no good!

Also at least 5 instances of Starscream betraying Megatron and the same number of threats by Megatron to Starscream over said betrayals!

And most importantly new toys to accompany the film based on the original characters and in metal!

Quality special effects. A high quality storyline like the ones in the Marvel comics especially the really dark side of it that give it its edge. The best characters from all the toy ranges there where some amazing ones in there!

Who knows if we build up enough interest a hollywood studio may take notice!

I'd rather see a CGI movie:D

Star Scream getting shot in the chest by Megatron for messing up! I used to love that bit!

I'd like them to include similar situations to my favourite episodes where the tapes Ravage (the panther) and Rumble (the little dude) ejected went on missions...

1) Rumble went to the bottom of Sherman Dam and pile drove the river bed to cause power overload.

2) Ravage went on a Spy mission at the autobots headquarters and getting caught in the laser net, class! :notworthy:

Effects wise, I'd like it to be on the lines of Jurrasic Park if they made it.

The budget for this would have to be huge though...

Energon cubes!!!!

I don't really care as long as it had a decent storyline and was decent to look at, not too much to ask.

But the really important question is, how come the deceptacons didn't win easily?;) They had multiple fighter aircraft on their side, and what did the autobots have? An artic, a couple of flash sports cars(which never got enough screentime IMO;)) and a beatle(who got insane amounts of screentime)(oh and some random other cars I can't be arsed to list;)).

I think this would only work properly (and without a insane budgit) if it was totally CGI.

Apart from that black jet, he was the silent power. I think he had a fire fight/duel with one of the sports cars on a tight mountain road once. Search threads......find....Transformers......Season 1......Boxset!!!! :norty:

Oh, and having watched the entire Season 1 a couple of months back, its clear to me that the silent power behind Megatrons throne is Soundwave;).

Mr Nice - Does it have the same effect now? Is the cartoon really as good as I remember? I saw some screen shots the other day and it looked a bit basic or thin. Should I invest in Season One?

It was fun to watch though, and you realise that infact the plots were paper thin excuses for a fight every other scene;). It's not too heavy on the preachy/moralising side of things which is good, other 80s cartoons suffer from this in retrospect.
Should you invest in it? How long is a piece of string:shrug:.

Mr Nice - Thank you for bringing me down to stable ground! I was getting a bit carried away!

I cannot believe the amount of violence that used to be in Transformers though. They would never get away with it now!

Thats one of the problems with the new shows too much moralising.I watched an ep and Prime is telling the Auto bots not to fight in the forest as they will damage the wildlife :brickwall :brickwall

It looks very realistic and even has the transforming noise :dork:

Have to say, after watching buying the Series 1 dvd set that it's pretty dissapointing, not a patch on how I remembered it. The film still rocks though (I even bought the soundtrack!).

I've also read a few of the re-released original comics and they stand up far better than the cartoons did, mind you, I always prefered the comics to the cartoon anyway. I remember a great story where they came over to England to find an ancient transformer from before the autobot/decepticon war who was about to be dug up by archeologists, quite different in style to most of the stories and with a fairly downbeat ending as well.

Yeah, the comics were a lot better than the cartoon. Simon Furman wrote all the best ones in first the UK and then the US comics. :dork:
