Anyone else got this? Just listening to it at the mo, got a nice range of stuff on there so far.

Is just nice to have any Aphex Twin stuff around at the mo, so much crap music everywhere!!!

'Tis rather splendid - Mrs Radiohead picked me up a copy at lunch (although she did ask for the new CD by Apex Fin  - the mobile line was a bit dodgy when I told her what to get)

Saw this in Virgin earlier, I was very tempted by it. Didn't get it though, wound up getting the new Placebo album instead.

Some old Aphex stuff has been reduced in there as well - Selected Ambient Works 2, Come To Daddy and a few other bits that I can't remember.

Looks like a pretty good tracklisting, might pick this up at the weekend. What's the Windowlicker remix like?

Oh, and where's the Lemonheads remix?

I've only just started to get into AT (i know i know  ) .

Whats the best album, to ease myself in? Is it this new Mixes For Cash, or should I go for Selected Ambient Works 85-92? as I heard this is supposed to be very good.

Thanks in advance :)

For more typical AT I'd say Selected Ambient Works - the new one is very good, but SAW has it beat. I'm also a big fan of Drukqs as well.

Got this ordered up for a tenner from Splash. Looking forward to it.

The best Aphex Twin album I think is "I Care Because You Do" for his bumpy stuff or "SAW 1" for his floaty stuff, "classics" is also a good buy.

Got mixes for cash yesterday, it's very good but I'd have preferred a new album (although most of his remixes sound nothing like the original (I won't bother to type the lemonheads story here as I guess most of you know that)).

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll purchase 'I Care Because You Do'

as I cant find Selected Ambient Works 82-92 anywhere (retail or shops).

Aphex fact: Vic Reeves chose Bucephalus Bouncing Ball as one of his Desert Island Discs the other week. Imagine old people across the country being subjected to that at 11:30 on a Sunday morning  Sue Lawley was not impressed...

Got this a few weeks ago. Didn't think much of it then and still don't think much of it now. Just seemed to me that as with most of his remixes that i've heard by him over the years, he only puts in a good effort when it's an artist he really admires.

You can hear this in his David Bowie and Gavin Bryars mixes which also happen to be the best tracks on the album IMO.

Great album. I like the more accessible stuff so my faves are Classics and SAW vol 1. Didn't get SAW vol 2 at all - found it unlistenable.

Picked this up recently, listening to CD1 now. and it is outstanding. The Bowie remix is quite disturbing indeed!

Haven't got this yet - $45 for an imort in hmv... No thanks... I think the only mix I haven't already got is the Curve one (not paying UKP60ish on ebay...)
I'll see how much the postage is from warpmart.

It's dirt cheap here.

Hhhm, UKP13 on warpmart... Forgot how much of a rip off CDs are in the UK...
But there's plenty of other new releases there that I should get...
Anyone got the Plaid remix CD? Worth getting?

Was eyeing the plaid remix CD too.... anyone?

warpmart is costly. I picked it up for a tenner here.

Have just got the Plaid remix CD - it's excellent!! Well pleased with it especially as I wasn't expecting much from it to be honest!

Apparently they're working on a new album now too which will also come out on DVD. While I'm in a Warp artists mood, has anyone got the new Mu-Ziq album 'Billious Paths'? Still waiting for mine to arrive....

26MFC is fast becoming a fave of mine, do love the Raising the Titanic track - very chilled.

Love the hype surrounding that track with in the picture embedded inside it..Ah, the Demon Face.

Ahpex Twin hmm, hardly heard anything of them, but I love Come to Daddy :notworthy

But I think I've only heard one other track the one with the disturbing video with his head on beautiful women driving a car and sitting in the back set etc. Didn't like that.

Any ideas from those two observations what else I'd like?

Try classics, it's got some of the harder edged stuff, if you liked come to daddy and not windowlicker...

Give Selected Ambient Works I & II a go, that's how I found Aphex. :)

Good to hear Windowlicker being used in an ad on the telly at the mo.

To clarify I love Come to Daddy because it is the best musical interpretation of the devil sitting in hell that i've heard, reminiscent, to me at least, of Bill Hicks suck satans routine... in its power and imagery.

And it sounds good, theres a tune there that i like, and windowlicker nothing appealed to me it was just background music, the tune didn't resonate. I wonder if the fact that I first heard Come To Daddy as music and have only heard Windowlicker as a music video makes a difference?

So its Classics, and ambient that I've been recommended, I will have to pop over to amazon, unless anyone knows somewhere better, to here some snippets to judge whether i think id like it or not.
