I heard a track during Daredevil and after an bit of research found it to be Evanescence - Bring me too life.

These guys (and a girl) are really good. There album is due out here early next month, I think. Be sure to check it out.
Every song on it is excellent.
The lead singer has an absolutely amazing voice.

There are some top 'non-album' tracks out there if you can find them. Including good radio acoustic of Heart Shaped Box.

Especially from their 'Origin' EP and 2002 Demos.

Can't find Origin for love nor money but.... play now have 'fallen' in stock... I too fell in love with this group after watching daredevil... went right out and bought the soundtrack, it was 'My Immortal' that did it for me... :D

I've heard the stuff off the Daredevil OST and must admit, it sounds quite good.

Other than Imaginary and Tourniquet this album is average at best

Her voice is quality though

Got this from Play yesterday (£8.99) after enjoying their two tracks on the DareDevil Soundtrack.

Very Impressive, what a beautiful voice she has. :notworthy

Does the album version of Bring Me To Life contain the guy singing background vocals and is this the same one that appears on the Daredevil soundtrack.

Yup , it has Paul McCoy from 12 Stones

Yeah it's the most popular version Bish. There is a great demo version of that song out there that is reasonably different. Replacing the rapping guy with lead guitar and a guitar solo.

On the demos and original recordings and live performances it was Ben that provided the male vocal part. It was the record company that wanted Paul on the recording for the Daredevil sountrack and the album.

TBH I don't think the song would work without a male vocal, it's a good song, but certainly not the best on the album.

Awesome band though.

I'm waiting for the album to arrive from CDWow but I must say I prefer the version wthout the male vocals.

Also if you click the link and listen live towards the top, you can hear the newest rock and emo music as well as a bit of older stuff as well.

If anyone is interested, shoot me an email and I would send you some clips I got from a friend on another forum, that contains demos, a better quality version of "bring me to life" acoustic and also a "heart shaped box" cover they did that was originally done by Nirvana, but since this is a college student, he can only keep it up till may.

Their non-album stuff is much better.

They've seriously compromised their integrity by adding all that sub-Linkin Park guitar crap on the album.

The demo, even though it has still a guitar part, it sounds more well, 80's with what sounded like a keyboard and no opening piano part.

I both agree and disagree  i think some of their earlier/demo stuff has a style all of their own that is somewhat different, more darker/moodier, than that of the album.

BUT i do realise the fact they need to have some sort of commercial aspect in order to make it in the biz and sounding a bit like LP can't really be seen as a bad thing IMO. (Although having said that and the more i listen to their past stuff the connection to LP gets further and further. I think the single version of 'Bring Me To Life' is the only LP-esque track they've done.)

For some examples of where i'm trying to come from if you have the means check out 'Even in Death', 'Before the Dawn' and 'The Understanding', three of my fave songs by them and not one of them is on the album. :(

If you listen to them and the likes of 'My Immortal' and 'Hello' i don't think you can ever compare them to LP. totally different ball park.

I would urge anyone who likes the new Evanescence album (and particularly 'Bring me to Life') to check out a band called Lacuna Coil.

They are an italian band who produce music very similar stuff to Evanescence (goth-y lovely female vocals supplemented by harder-edged male vocals with lots of guitar and keyboard). A good starting point would be their latest album, 'Comalies'.

I have four CDs worth of material sent to me by someone on another forum, it's all pretty neat too. I gotta say their cover of 'Heart Shaped Box' is awful, No one it seems, can sing a Nirvana quite like Kurt, and that's coming from someone (me) who doesn't much like Nirvana.

Their debut album is amazing, I'd go as far as to say it's better than Fallen.

Only 2500 copies were ever produced. I'm tempted to bid, but I know if I do, the price is gonna sky rocket even further, and I can't afford that, I can't really afford it as it is, but it sure is tempting.

Robby

You're tempted? at that price ? when you can get it from other sources?

I read an interview with Ben and Amy saying they pretty much despise those who are selling their older stuff on the internet, especially Ebay. I got the impression they don't mind you obtaining their older material just support them when they release something official. Which i suppose is fair enough.

However that on eon ebay does look pretty genuine, was 'Origin' actually released officially?

The band actively encourage fans to 'share' those albums not that I'm going to bother getting them. :D
