Whats everyone think about this channel?
For the past couple of weeks I have been watching it religiously, although during the daytime there are normally just the same boring bands over and over again...
Love The Distillers,Dropkick Murphys,Tsunami Bomb,Bad Religion,The Vandals,Green Day...also that new group they keep plugging...starts with an M...arrgghh...
So anyway...anyone got any viewpoints?

' real music for real people' *snigger*

some of the music on there is dire, but some is good

e.g. The Distillers, Green Day, NOFX etc

but they seem to have a serious hard-on for Good Charlotte (ughhh) as of late

I watched a lot of it last year and bought a couple of Distillers cds due to it,but they do tend to play the same vids a lot.

I watched it quite a lot - take it the P is for punk? or is that too obvious!

What's the Sky channel where they play all the XXX or old banned videos after 10pm? Saw that Sabrina vid the other night where she's bouncing about in the pool :norty:

The P doe's stand for Punk.
I think Kerrang play the XXX vids, and so do the U Channel (I think!).
Was reading the P-Rock website a few days ago and apparently when you ring up your not requesting that the video be played, your only casting a vote for it,therefore the more votes a video gets the more times it will be played per day.
Bit of a wierd system and also means you could ring in and not see your video until that night.

I assumed all those phone-in channels worked liked that.

jonozz - it's channel U (467) - they show uncut vids after 10 and also sometimes have commercial breaks, only showing phone sex ads, that go on for about 10 minutes! ITC anyone?!

RobbieM - as far as I can see, the emap channels are going like this too. If you watch it pings up a logo on the screen on these channels whenever someone calls in - sometimes you'll see 20 or 30 votes come up in the space of one video, clearly they don't just play them one after another, they count up who's voting for what.

The p-rock website is at... http://www.salescollector.com/procktv/

no point starting a new thread (although its temporary hiatus wasnt posted here) and i cant see another thread on the first couple of pages, but it appears to be back (sat here watching it at the mo!)

seems to be a similar playlist to just before it got removed

Only just realised it's back. Yay! Unfortunately my other half is taping some Jane Birkin thing on BBC4, so I can't go and watch it yet!

Flicking between Channel U and that other one (chartshow TV?) just isn't the same without a bit of P-rock inbetween!

:)

when i was watching it early they seemed to be looping about 8/9 songs and that was it, hope they introduce some variation!!!!

Yeah. Agreed. It is a top channel at night but the daytime needs some variation. There is no way anyone likes "pretty fly for a ........" that much!!!

Tsunami Bomb rule. Probably the only place you will see that much Trio as well

I like it, it's the only channel you're gonna see certain bands - the Misfits for example. I also discovered Homegrown after seeing their excellent Kiss Me Diss Me video. Interesting to see that on the website that P-Rock was started by 3 blokes with three grand just to see if it could be done! It's good to see that it could be done what with most of the other channels being owned by huge groups: Emap etc.

Love P-Rock and bands like Bad Religion and the Dropkick Murphys are brilliant!

It's one of my favorite channels but I like all the rock ones really.

Shame they don't play any classic Punk - i.e Stranglers, Buzzcocks, Clash, Damned etc. Can`t have it all I guess. :|

RobbieM

Yeah.
VH1 plays some Clash late at night on the 'classic rock' section of their channel, about 12-2,I think. Normally just White Riot etc.ya know the usual stuff.
I've virtually abandoned the P-Rock channel now. Its gone all weird with alot of the screen just taken up by tickers and stuff, makes me irate whenever I see that whole "ring this number for this ringtone' as well.
Also, what is up with the hip-hop!
I thought it was called P-Rock not B-Hop!
