View Full Version : Miles Davis - Live at the isle of Wight
Not sure if any of you are interested, but Play are listing a dvd of this performance from 1969 for release in June, at the price of £11.99. I have no idea of the quality (either of the performance or the footage...)

That period wasn't his best...all a bit Jazz Odyssey !!:) Might be worth a look though, if only to see how bad the clothes he was wearing at the time were ;)

I hate the Isle Of Wight and everything in it. Boycott it.

Just spotted this one. I am not familiar with that CD, but know of the performance. Wasn't it 1970 rather than 1969? The same line-up that included Hendrix? I suspect it's a bootleg and sounds like pots and skulls clanking. But the 1969-1970 musician line-up was on fire, man. I'll bet my house that the performance was tip-top. :)
Miles was... The Master. I have a mass of his stuff on CD and vinyl. I saw him three times, including at his final London gig in 1991. Sheer magic and genius.
Some Miles footage can be seen on the 'Message to Love' film of the festival. The DVD is still available as far as I know.

Always thought they came from the Isle of Man until you posted that - you learn something every day :)
