View Full Version : Fast Food Rockers - Fast food song - Advertising?
I've just seen the video for Fast Food Rockers truly awful "Fast Food song".The chorus goes..
Macdonalds,Macdonalds
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a pizza Hut.
Surely this is advertising and should not be played on the radio.
(Mind you the less we hear of this song the better!)

Come on it's a laugh, i suppose you turned your nose up at Barbie Girl, Mr Blobby, and Bob The Builder?
It's a classic compared to some songs out there.
Smile mate it won't crack your face :)

Is this not classic pop then? And would it be if S Club were singing it? :D

Always said that you don`t have to sell many records at all these days to have a No.1. Must be cheaper than advertising. Always thought just one company like McD`s would do it, never thought they`d all chip in. Not heard said record yet (thankfully)
The worst thing, is that the tune sticks in your head, & every time you here it, you end up singing along. :brickwall
What the hell is this song? :)
Not heard the released version, but I do remember singing it at primary school. Who wrote it?
Time to introduce the bouncer system on all record store doors then.
'You want to buy what? Sorry mate you ain't coming in here with those tastes in music!'
Another artist to add to my forthcoming crimes against society legal ruling!
All sorts of products get mentioned in songs all the time. One thing that seems quite popular is mentioning makes of cars in r n b, hip hop and rap music.
Madonna mentions her mini in 'American Life' and Electric Six mention Taco Bell in 'Danger... High Voltage'.
I doubt any money will have changed hands for such mentions, unlike in some films that have received funding in return for prominent screen time.

What's wrong with this song? Surely everyone sang it in nursery or infants at school.

If you haven't heard the song, your reactions are -
10 secs in - WTF is this crap?
20 secs in - Is this some anti-globalisation ****-take?
30 secs in - No they're serious, blimey, this will wind up the hippies. Maybe they should do a follow-up singing "George Bush George Bush Microsoft Microsoft", that'd give 'em coronaries.
40 secs in - Still crap though.
50 secs in - Very very very crap.
60 secs - Oh for the love of god, where's the remote control?

How many other songs do actually mention fast food outlets?
I can only think of one off the top of my head: "Rock & Roll McDonalds" by Wesley Willis.

"Can I Take U 2 The Cinema?" by Kenickie mentions BK:
Stick on your coat let’s get you out of those wet clothes,
Take you to Burger King, and I won’t lace your Coke
With anthrax or anything.

Nothing wrong in advertising on the radio. Apparently many stations stay in business this way.
