Good to see the Yankees losing :D
Toronto completed their first ever four game sweep on Sunday :D
With Boston's win Monday they are now 2 1/2 games ahead of the Yankees, with Toronto only a further 1 1/2 games back:

AL East
Boston 31 19 .620 -
New York 29 22 .569 2.5
Toronto 28 24 .538 4.0
Baltimore 23 26 .469 7.5
Tampa Bay 19 30 .388 11.5

Who would have thought Toronto would only be 1 1/2 games behind the Yankees after the series thrashings the Yankees dished out at the start of the season :)

I know you didn't. :D

Anyway, good to see that the Yankees are being challenged on two fronts!

Chipper led off the 10th with a homer to win it for the Braves. :oh-hum:

Leiter had 130+ pitches in just 6 innings in his win for the Mets.

And Zito had a one hitter going into the 8th inning before giving up 3 runs!

Looks like the Blue Jays gained a game on Boston.

Cleveland managed to beat the mighty Tigers.

Oh, and the Cubbies lost. :|

Cheers for that, I'd laugh if the Blue Jays pinched the AL East title from under the noses of the Yankees and Red Sox :p

Boston 31 20 .608 -
New York 30 22 .577 1.5
Toronto 29 24 .547 3.0
Baltimore 24 26 .480 6.5
Tampa Bay 19 31 .380 11.5

So would I. :D

We need more of the likes of Toronto and Minnesota etc winning!

It's quite unbelievable how the Blue Jays have gone from not winning at all to being almost unbeatable. I found this interesting fact.....

The Blue Jays (29-24) have gone through a radical transformation in the last month. Gone are the last-place strugglers that finished April with the most losses in franchise history. In their place is a contending contingent that's won six straight games and tied a team record for the most wins in May.
With losses by Boston and Oakland on Tuesday night, the Jays are three games back in the AL East and 1 1/2 back in the race for the AL Wild Card.

It's also missed out "getting whooped by Tampa Bay" :D

Sorry only had chance to glance at mets.com and....

Trachsel, Mets handcuff Phillies

Steve Trachsel was brilliant in shutting down Philadelphia on Thursday night at Veterans Stadium, combining with a pair of relievers to post a shutout as the Mets dropped the Phillies, 5-0. Trachsel went 6 2/3 innings, scattering five hits and striking out five for the win.
