i would have to say cisse would be yet another mistake made by houllier reported 10 million why not just take the money buy duff and barry and sortout the width of the team and then see how many more goals liverpool will score

Duff alone would probably cost double that! ;)

Cisse looked mediocre when we played Auxerre in the UEFA cup this season.

So he shouldn't take any time at all to settle in at Anfield.

Apparently the rumour now is Houllier has bid £15million and then he'll also give Auxerre his two young French players(Le Tallec and Pongolle) on loan for a season.

He'd be mad to do that, Cisse is mediocre at best:|

He wasn't match fit in that match if memory serves me correctly. He is a great deal better than that from what I've seen. But yes, whilst he would be a good buy, there are a few other areas where the team needs strengthening (i.e left wing and a centre half).

I don't think Duff will go anywhere, Blackburn want too much for him. Kewell on the other hand .... :)

If Houllier signs Cisse he is a bigger fool than I thought.

Has he not learnt anything from signing untried (premiership), foreign youngsters. For christs sake sign some proven quality or next season will be another false dawn.

I agree you might get Kewell, that would definitley give you the width you need but if Houllier insists on playing so defensively it won't really make much difference.

I don't rate Cisse at all. I've seen him play quite a lot this season and he really hasn't done much to impress. You'd be better of with Baros IMO or a proven striker.........Then again some people absoloutley rave about Djibril Cisse

Anyway, I wonder if that means the exit door for Heskey if Cisse signs.

Don't panic, remember Cheyrou is the new Zidane. Or something along those lines. :|

Well I can see what he is saying BUT why play them so often then??? Especially in the case of Diouf. Houllier sells quality players and then buys knackered unproven younsters

I though Diouf earned his run in the team to be honest. There were times when Diao was the only option left in the middle. Cheyrou, well, no argument there :)

if nothing improves in the coming season i wonder what he will blame then surely the effects of the world cup cant last that amount of time lol.if i hear that lame excuse one more time i will scream its not like senegal made it to the final is it and didi did an he aint knackered.

what gets me with houllier though is the fact as soon as he has signed a player he uses the "one for the future" excuse to cover himself when things turn sour i`ve lost count of the amount of times he has bought players on good wages an reasonably high fee`s and they end up as reserve fodder:mad: we must have the most expensive reserve team in the country.

then theres the fact he hates to be questioned on any player at all no matter how poor or out of there depth they are,did anyone see his reaction to being asked about ANELKA after the last home game of the season he blew his lid.and he has favourites BIG TIME while these players can do no wrong he treats others with contempt and disrespect:oh-hum: CISSE IS NOT THE ANSWER IF WE GET CREATIVE IN MIDFIELD THE GOALS WILL FLOW.

oh yeah and he has a nasty habit of buying players and then leaving them at the club for 1 year before he gets them now i wouldnt mind 1 or 2 but this is a regular thing now IM TIRED OF "ONES FOR THE FUTURE" i want proven playmakers now not maybes an never wills he could have got rivaldos wages for 3 seasons with the crap he signed this season, and how come we never get linked with the good french players always the ones you never heard of:brickwall

wasn't El Hadji Diouf signed to do what Cisse is now meant to be wanted for?

£15m for Cisse is a waste of money... better trying to get duff or kewell, plus someone cheaper (Kanoute?) as a striker, then ditch Heskey.

of course, Houllier could've just bought Anelka last year and solved that problem.

plus we would've been in the champions league next year. :)

doh!

He'd have been a failure at Anfield without a doubt IMO - he hasn't exactly set the world on fire at Man City and he is the main man of their entire team. Him coming off the bench and starting 1 in 3 or 4 would have sent him on a downward spiral.

I'm actually very excited at the thought of Cisse signing - I think £15-20m on Duff is a waste of money (far too much money for someone who hasn't finished a season yet without some sort of fairly serious injury). If we could get Kewell and Cisse for under £20m, then I'd be far, far happier than seeing the same amount on Duff.

But of course, the 'Houllier out' crowd will simply not be satisfied without Mr Duff signing - I think we could sign Ronaldo and Zidane and I'd still hear 'why haven't we signed my wannabe love child Damian Duff?' ;)

Just my 2p on the matter

I'd much prefer us to sign Kewell than Duff. IMO the board should be willing to pay big money to make sure we get him.

I'd rather we signed Kewell than Duff too.

Another who much prefers Kewell to Duff. C'mon Harry - you know that you won't get as many matches at Old Trafford competing for a place with Giggs.;)

I just wish we would sign either of them :)
