I was told that the Premier League fixtures are out on Wednesday 11th June.

The press association claim the 19th June is fixture day for the English and Scottish premier leagues as well as the football leagues of both nations.

You're getting too excited dmb6473a, but I don't blame you. I hope you avoid the start that Albion got last season.

Actually, you wouldn't believe how underwhelmed I am by the whole thing so far. I always wanted to see us get promoted, and wasn't really concerned about anything after that. I think I'd sooner finish in the top six of Division One, than bottom six of the Premier League. :D

It only took me one season to forget how annoyed I get when we lose. Surprising given our record.

You get to see some good football live in the premiership. you also get less games worse refereeing, MUCH worse cheating and far too many egos.

The coming season holds much less anticipation for me as well. My legs haven't recovered from 19 games at Loftus road yet.

The one thing that I don't get about some fans is that they consider it an honour to be beaten by Man Utd, Arsenal, etc, just as long as they get to see the likes of Henry, Beckham, etc. Realistic or not, I'll be disappointed if we got a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. Better or worse than us, each team is just another opponent. Win, lose or draw, if you don't believe that you can come away with the three points, then there's no point in being there.

Personally, I only ever go to see 11 players, and they all play for my team. If Beckham scores a great free-kick or Seaman pulls off a brilliant save, it won't even register with me. Yet if the ball bounces in off Nathan Blake's arse, I'll remember it for the next 10 years. :D

Totally agree with you dmb6473a, it always hacked me off that games against so called big clubs cost more or it was hard to get tickets because non-regulars decided to go - I never gave a monkey's who the opposition were, it was Portsmouth I wanted to see.

Wait until you see Henry or Pires play on a good day or Solskjaer score a goal from nothing (norwegian g*t) :D . I was surprised at the number of players who I'd never rated who look very very good when you can see the whole pitch for 90 minutes.

I agree with you on the competing score. I thought the Albions approach last season was all wrong. You have to at least try to compete.

I belive the popular phrase around here for them was "Down before August". :D

Yep, it was Pompey I went to see, not the other side. Didn't bother me whether it was Man Utd or Grimsby - true fans don't just support a side when they're doing well or playing top opposition.

I know mate, I've been going to Carrow Road for longer than I care to remember and there have only been a <strike>handful</strike> couple of season when we've been even remotely successful.

btw I was trying to be funny, thought I'd mention that as I'm not sure that it came through in my previous post!

Well I've heard a rumour that after the pending sale of Harry Kewell, Leeds will have "norfolk n'chance" on a weekly basis next season. Or at least that's what I thought they said!
