I wonder if they will find a replacement
Bruno... Bruno... Bruno :D

Should be a good fight
Now this i don't mind paying for:D
Lets see how good the other brothers chin is;)

what a crackin replacement big  to the promoters for this one... COME ON Lennox !! :)
If he's got anything like the chin his brother has, it'll take one big punch from Lewis to end the fight. The two brothers are probably the best challengers out there for Lewis, though personally, I think he'd kill them both.
Now it's worth paying for. I hope it's Lennox's swansong and he destroys Klitschko.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if he beat both brothers by way of KO for his last 2 fights? :D

I take it you've never heard of Larry Holmes. :p

Is the fight likely to be a good 'un?
I quite fancy buying it, but don't want to tune in to watch a 1 round farce.

lewis has weighed in at 18st 4lbs,8lbs heavier than vitali.
Lets hope this isn't a bad sign:(

Bad sign for Lewis I take it?
Lewis is 9/2 on, and Klitschko is 3/1, so is Vitali worth a punt?

Well that's a big can of worms you're opening. :D
In terms of ability Lewis is miles ahead of Klitschko so basically it comes down to his fitness and focus. He can't afford to lose concentration for even a second against Vitali who's a big man with a good punch. If Lewis takes him too lightly then he will be beaten or if his fitness isn't up to scratch after a year of inactivity then it will be a difficult fight. However if Lewis is on top form then it should prove to be a relatively comfortable fight with him winning in the around the halfway point as Vitali is quite slow and rigid and he has little experience against top class opposition.. IMO Vitali is only worth a punt if you think Lewis sounds complacent in his interviews.
As for paying for the fight, I wouldn't be expecting a breathtaking 12 round epic but it shouldn't be a crap 2 minute beating either. I'll definitely be watching it.

Me too mate i think this could turn out a nightmare for Lewis.
It reminds me of when he fought Z Mavrovic he struggled at times and this guy could hardly punch. Also this weight thing what is that about. Lewis has never done it for me he just happened to be in the right place at the right time. True he has a good record but one or two descisions have been debateable.
Also when he fought Holyfield and Tyson they were well past there prime really.

Any idea what time this fight will start?
I think I'll have a tenner on Klitschko, after Depo scored two late goals to save my £10@4/1 acca.

It should start at 3.
Going round my mates to watch this at 1:30AM, it should be a mint fight

Lewis is still the champion he is one very lucky person.

Lewis is a joker, if he hadnt cut Vitali he would have had his arse kicked. His after fight comments was arrogant (as you expect from boxers) Lewis is kidding himself if he thinks he would have finished the fight had it not been stopped. To give Vitali no respect at the end like he did made me feel sick, he is a very very poor lucky lucky winner, if he can be called a winner.

Vitali was certainly winning the fight at that point, he was looking the least tired of the two and he wasn't letting Lewis physically dominate yet Lewis reckons if the fight had gone on he would have kocked him out. :suspect:
If Lewis is a true champ then they'll have a re-match.

Lewis got away with it there.
Vitali was outboxing him and he took some big, big shots from Lewis and when he didn't go down from them you have to wonder what plan B was for Lennox.
Guess there will be a rematch now in October/November.

Sounds like Lewis was very lucky. Do you reckon he didn't put the training in, or perhaps he isn't as good as he thinks he is?

He seemed very out of breath to me and the weight gain i dont think would have helped him either.
I like Lenox but sometimes he seems to think that all others are going to be cack and he is unbeatable that will cost him.

Lewis although he took a mauling... did the job!(not a very impressive one ) If a guy bleeds so much the fight has to be stopped.. well the guy who is not bleeding wins! The after fight comments from Lennox were nothing short of disgraceful though. He should have paid Vitali more respect than what he did!
Think back to when 'Our Henry' put Cassius Clay on his arse but lost due to his face bleeding constantly...
Boy - glad I woke up half-way into R2!
I agree with most of the comments above but he still won!
Lewis seems to need an awful lot of stimulation, indeed fear, before he ups his game and for me will go down as a very inconsistent boxer who triumphed at a time when we were seriously short of quality heavyweight perfomers.
Expect a re-match and maybe 2 more fights from Lewis at a push.
One wonders of he ties to make himself look bad etc to get more lucrative re-matches ;)

Lucky Lewis. The way he talked about Klitschko afterwards was a disgrace. At least the crowd and commentary team new who the real winner was. Another couple of rounds and i think Lewis would of been the one in trouble not Klitschko as Lewis said.
The WBC should order a rematch when Vitali has had time to heal.
i listened to this on the radio, sounds like he was getting his arse kicked lmao :)
wheres the first place in TV i can watch the replay or rounds of this without paying. I have Sky.
:)
Lewis' after the fight comments were an absolute disgrace. I'm just glad the interviewer made him look pretty stupid (can't remember what he said now, but I do recall chuckling at the time).
Never felt worse about winning money. What a pansy.

There's a program on Sky Sports 1 on tuesday I think.
Lennox should have retired after the Tyson fight. He had proved himself as the best heavyweight fighter of his generation and had nothing left to prove. Last night was a let off - let's just hope he does the right thing now.

He can't retire now as everyone will see that as Lewis running scared of Vitali.

Well that would just be stupid IMO. After last nights fight he needs to take someone apart before retiring to restore his reputation but RJJ isn't the right opponent. It's a no win situation fighting RJJ as he'd be expected to quite comfortably beat a man who weighs 60 pounds less than him no matter how good the opponent. If he wins the media will probably accuse him of taking the easy fight rather than fighting Vitali and if he loses then he'll have put a big dent in that legacy he's always talking about.
Based on last nights display he should be looking at Holmes or Foreman for his next fight. ;)
anyone got the fight on file they can email me please:)

Lennox Lewis = Lucky Git
Couldn't help but feel sorry for Klitchko, i heard in the Lewis post fight interview with Larry Merchant of HBO that he only had a week to prepare for the bout  what was that about ?
Lewis had a very lucky break with the doctor's ruling imo...

Just looking at the pictures of Vitali is this morning's papers. Bloody hell did his face get battered. He needed 60 stitches apparently. Ugly stuff.

I cannot believe he didn't think the fight should have been stopped.
Picture here - It's a bit bloody if you don't like that kind of thing!!!! (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,3-2003282217,00.html)
BTW Klitchko is a liar when he said that Lewis headbutted him as Sky Sports showed the overhand right that mashed his eye and Lewis' head was nowhere near him at the point of impact

I think his it's perfectly understandable as the doctor has said that he didn't stop the fight because of excessive bleeding or potential damage to the eye. He said when he went over to Vitali in the corner and Vitali lifted his head to look at him so he deduced that Vitali couldn't see out of the eye properly thus was unable to defend himself. If Vitali could see out of his eye like he says then it's no wonder he's crushed by the decision.

But haven't you seen fighters stopped for a lot least cuts then that? I have.
I suppose it's just like football and penalties.....sometimes they're given sometimes they're not

I agree. Looking at Vitali's face, it was in an awful state. Last time I saw someone busted up as bad as that was Bruno when he fought Tyson. Remember that huge gash just above his eyebrow? Properly opened up. And Vitali was much worse than that for me.

Yeah but that's Ultimate fighting, not Boxing

I never said it was boxing though.
Yeah but what I was getting it is that Ultimate Fighters can use elbows, knees and bare fists, so injuries like that are more-or-less a given. Klitchko's injuries however where inflicted by padded fists, which TBH is quite scary

It was a bad injury granted but Lewis will be the one relieved he was very lucky. I just hope Vitali gets his rematch. Lewis isnt getting younger and wont want to end his career like that.

Actually the punch that caused the cut didn't look that bad. It seemed as though the glove caught Klitshcko's eye where the material wasn't the smoothest. Then you could see naughy Lennox clinching and rubbing his head against the cut in order to aggravate it even further.
The uppercut by Lewis, now that was  , i dont know how Klitshcko stayed up from that.
The uppercut by Lewis, now that was
That uppercut was an awesome punch for sure and probably caused most of the damage to Klitchko's lip & mouth
where can i seee this fight then now:)

it is on sky sports 1 tonight at 9pm repeated at 5am for you nightshift workers like me.:)
Last night was the first time I'd seen the full fight and I must stand up for Lewis. Sure he looked poor and sluggish, but to win (albeit controversially) after the battering he took in the first 2 rounds was impressive! OK, Lewis talked crap in the post fight interview, but so did Klitchko - "He didn't hit hard. I could see every punch he threw" - like the uppercut in the 6th:lol:
Lewis must retire now! - he should have after Tyson. Age is taking its toll on Lewis. It will be the best part of a year before a rematch with Klitchko happens. And what if Lennox loses? He definitely won't want to retire then. He will be pushing 40 and probably get beat by an average fighter. His great career would end in a shambles. Get out now, Lennox, while you're still at the top.
I agree I feel Lewis did deserve to win it in the end and those cuts was caused by Lewis's punches.
Yes Ivan Klitscko Drago was brave / stupid/ braindead but Lewis was absolutly knackered yet still kept going and managed to batter Drago. Ive never seen him so tired, his defence was no there, his arms kept dropping and his feet was dragging too. He was overweight and unfit by a mile.
THAT uppercut though

THAT bloke interviewing Lewis after the fight, is that the bloe Jon Voigts character plays in Ali with Will Smith.
I have no idea its just he sounds like that character jon voight plays.

No mate that was Howard Cossell who Voight played. Mind i think he has been around as long. lol. Cant knock him as most of the after fight interviewers ask the most stupid questions. None more so than the bloke from the BBC.
