Just wondering - a friend at work would like to know.

Stimpy,

One of my friends has a Tosh SD100E (I think) and her boyfriends mum gets them from Malaysia. They play ok on her machine. Also on my Pioneeer 626.

Both the DVD players I have play VCDs with no problems - a Samsung 807 and a Toshiba SD-500E.

My iBook also plays VCDs, but then again so can all my Macs - even if they don't have a DVD drive!

Thanks Rabbi and MB. I'll pass the info on. :)

Only certain players can and even some of those can't play CDR VCD's ;-) Dual laser pickup is required. If it can do CDR/RW playback then you should be OK.

My Himage 2290 is one of the cheapest players around. It reads VCDs, SVCDs and MP3s on pressed disks and every CDR / CDRW brand that I've tried.
