View Full Version : Where can I get an NTSC to PAL convertor unit?
As header; I have a non-NTSC compaitble TV in the bedroom which I would like to get a NTSC to PAL convertor for (assuming it's financially economical of course!)...
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

Try Lektropacks (http://www.lektropacks.co.uk/acatalog/cn-100p.html)
Standards converters, like those supplied by Lekropacks are VERY expensive - several hundred pounds.
A cheaper option is to buy a DVD player which CAN output a TRUE PAL50 signal from an NTSC DVD. Such as various Samsung and LG models, I believe.
When I looked into this I found it was cheaper to buy a new tv.
I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that as it doesn't handle NTSC it isn't that good any way
A
CPC do a couple at around £50 each.
I have no idea how good/bad they are though!
It states that they aren't recommended for TVs without a VHOLD control, and aren't suitable for making PAL recordings.
Thanks for the info, chaps.
The TV is only about 18 months old, and a small 14in Sony portable, but it seems it does lack the NTSC capability. :(
