Hi all,
I want to buy a cheap DVD player. My considerations (in order of importance) are...
Under £120 all in
Can be handset hacked to play all regions (at least 1 & 2)
Plays RCE encoded discs
Plays VCDs
Plays CDRs
Anyone any suggestions....
Thanks,
FyreWall :)
Dont know about RCE but all the others are catered for by the Cyberhome L528 which unbeatable have for £109 & postage
My son just got one for his room & it plays MP3 too ...
I was after the same thing, so went to Richer Sounds (www.richersounds.co.uk)
My player Himage 2290 is very small indeed, region free (from the box), supports RCE, plays MP3s (with song menus) and has tetris :) Picture and sound seem OK too. Cost me less than £100 delivered. It didn't come with a manual (end of line), so I phoned up a local store and they sent me one for free.
They don't have this player, but I believe they do other region free budget players - and they seem very helpful.

Richer sounds currently have the Acoustic Solutions player at £99.
It is multiregion and plays VCD,SVCD and MP3 according to richer sound's website.
How it compares to the Cyberhome - i don't know.. but you can download newer firmware for the cyberhome (that should iron out little niggles) if you have a CD writer.
