I was just wondering if anyone had this kit, and if it was worth purchasing.
If it is i was going to get them next week.

If not any other recommendations in the £200 mark?

Thanks for any advice.

www.qed-uk.com have the silverado 5-pack (fronts, rears + centre) for 109 quid. looks smart, but i have no idea of the quality. they also have the stargate sub + 5 sats packs for 109 quid as well. i think several people ordered them when this was posted in the bargain forum recently, so one off them might be ablle to offer more info as to sound quality.

I have the Stargate X1 from QED. I found QED a good supplier but others have had some problems. Stargate sound is very good for the money and compares very favourably with my previous more expensive Mission 702e and 700 set up.
I also have an Eltax Symphony Centre which is a very nice speaker.

I can recommend Eltax in general but I haven't heard the Silerados specifically. There have been several happy owners on here so a search might be in order.

A happy Silverado owner here - Superb value for £110 from QED, they just blew away the speakers from my Sharp Prologic system. I already owned a subwoofer and was after some larger front speakers so the Silverados fitted the bill perfectly.

Hi, sorry to jump on the thread, my question is sort of related.
andymc- as a Stargate XL owner how do you find they cope with music. I am almost certainly gonna buy these but I'm worried that musically they wont be up to it. Thanks

They give a really nice sound for music - I am not sure of the bass produced by them as I have a Sub to handle that part but certainly no probs with music!

CSS - The STARGATE X1 which I have are pretty decent for music (as long as you remember to disable prologic on the amp).
Nice and crisp and the sub gives good bass. The quality is on a par with a £400 Sony mini system that I bought before I got into the home cinema thing.

I have a Samsung 709 DVD player (which I also use to play CDs), a Yamaha DSP-A5 AV amplifier and the Eltax Stargate X1. For TV/DVD duties I have a small cheat in that I use an Eltax Symphony centre (for my previous set up) as well as the X1 centre.

Personally I don't know anything about the Stargate but I do like your choice of username ;)

andymc- Thanks for the reply, you have a very similar setup to mine ( I have a Sony STR-DB1070 though) , I'm gonna go for the Stargates. Thanks
