Connections on an Aiwa amp

Hi.

I was looking at the back of my amp last night and it has a monitor, audio(L), audio(R) in and out connections. does anyone know what the monitor in/out are for? and the best way to connect this to my dvd player

Monitor is usually a video out/in and therefore is designed to be connected to a TV or perhaps a VCR. You may (depending on the amps design) be able to connect the DVD to it, using a 3-phono cable (yellow, red and white plugs) and setting the amp to register the monitor as an input not an output - does that make sense?
