I have a Sony STR-DB940 digital receiver and the Mission 6 Pack speaker set.

I would like to know what other people with STR-DB940's have their settings at. I know that the ideal settings will differ from setup to setup (depending on room size and placement of speakers), but I would like to know exactly what settings you have for each of the Front, Rears and Centre.

Other comments on all the other setting would be useful aswel.

Another thing is on the back of my sub I have a volume knob and a Crossover frequency knob. What is the ideal setting for the crossover frequency? Is it dependant on a setting that you change on the amp?

Any help would b much appreciated, thanx for your time.

With your setup (ie 5 small speakers and a sub), I'd set SUBWOOFER=YES (obviously), and FRONT, CENTRE and REAR all to SMALL. Then set the crossover on the sub to the highest setting, and adjust it's volume until it balances well.
This will then send the LFE channel to the sub and also redirect all bass to the sub for all other channels. Although the Mission 70 speakers aren't bad for their size, they have limited bass performance.
The SUB level (ie all the redirected bass from the 5 main channels) and LFE level ( the .1 track) are independently adjustable, so you should be able to set them so that one doesn't overpower the other.

But feel free to experiment - it's whatever sounds best to you which is the important thing!
