Upgrading my Digitheatre

I have finally managed to sell my Digitheatre and am now going to upgrade.

As you all know, I have the Sony 1070 amp. I have a pair of Wharfedale 8.1 speakers. On the recommendation of The Hi Fi Store, I am going to use the 8.1 speakers as the surround speakers, get a pair of 8.2 for the front and left and a Wharfedale Centre speaker.

As the 1070 supports EX, will I need a rear centre speaker too?

Only if you want to utilise the extra rear centre channel, the DVD has to be encoded in 6.1 as well, of course. Plus do you have room for it?

Not really. This is going in my room. I was thinking that the Diamond 8.1 might be too big for rears anyway. I will see how I get on but will forget about the rear centre.
