Went into boots today with my holiday photos on a CD (150 for the 50 for £5 offer)
So anyway their new offer is 10p per print.
I asked the woman why when thats the same as the old offer, but she said its been simpled down so that people can do more than 50 but not in multiples of.
So anyway, there it is till March 2nd and minimum of 50 (so you can do 51 or 67 or whatever) at 10p a print.

Class! I'll be doing that this weekend :D
Steve
what's their processing time ?
It's 24 hours under this offer, and AFAIK it's going to be staying on longer than March the 2nd, but don't quote me.
Do the jpegs have to be a certain size because I've got some screen caps off the camcorder I'd like printed ?

So if you do this you have to go back and pick them up 24 hours later?
I'm sorely tempted; not sure if I've got 50 pics I want to print thou. Take them in on CD yeah? No Limits this time I'm presuming...

yep, just put at least 50 pics on a disc, you could even do 25 twice (just rename them) take it in during your lunch hour, the next day, pick them up again!
You even get your CD back!!! Now thats a bargain!

What size prints are in this offer, 6x4 i.e. cropped, or do they do the digital aspect 6x4.5 (IIRC) ?

Can you give them memory cards in this offer?

The images are cropped. Crop the images yourselves if you want to be certain that you don't loose any detail you might wish to retain e.g. Had a nice photo of a beach in moody weather with two cousins running for the water, was disappointed to find that they'd been chopped out of the picture courtesy of Boots!
Not sure where you can get a cropper, but I'm pretty certain there's freeware out there which will do the job.

A newibe to digital photos here - I just got the Canon A60 I posted here last week. Does it matter at what resolution/size you take the pictures at to get them developed at 6 x 4? ie If I take all photos at a mixture of high and low res will they still come out at full frame 6 x 4"?

They'll resize to fit the 6x4 paper. I put in a few small sized (640x480) images with my other 3 megapixel images and they all came out ok and full frame.
Anyone know how much for 7x5s?
Having moved from APS to Digital - I liked the HDTV size print of APS. Anyone know if you can get prints this size from any supplier?
im gonna sort through mine tonight and get a pile done, the missus is always moaning that we dont have any printed versions! cheers :)

Jpegcrop (http://www.enotes.de/twiki/bin/view.pl/Notes/JpegTools)
This I think as been previously posted on the forum it is in German you want the link jpegcrop.exe this is with a frame I think the apps in English.
& one without a frame
Jpeg crop 2 (http://sylvana.net/jpegcrop/)
Both free & work crop & then save as a new file so as to keep the original jpeg safe

well I got my 150 back today, and I didn't resize them, and the 'puter did a good job at cropping them!
I think there was 1 where a bit of the wife was cut out, but the rest were perfect!!
She'll be well chuffed when she gets in from work!
Hope everyone else gets good use out of this offer, I'm thinking of taking another 100 from our wedding day in!
Rob
Got my 76 back today, I did crop them to 6 x 4 and I am more than pleased with the results.
Just 4000 or so to sort through now to decide which ones should be enhanced, cropped and printed. :oh-hum:
Thanks mate, I was dissapointed I missed the old offer, just back from New Zealand so off I go.
Does anyone know if this offer is still on or been extended, it shold have finished last Tuesday I think.
Offer was still on last night.
Will ask when it is to end when I pick up the pics this evening, and post.

Its annoying that boots never seem to offer any discount to those of us who like 7 x 5's

Sorry to sound a fool here, but if my images are 4 megapixel what do I resize them to - a number of pixels or a physical dimension?
I assume Boots don't simply fit them to the size of the print?

The prints in the offer are 6" x 4", so if you crop them to 6:4 then you will can decide the crop. If you do not crop them then Boots will take a bit off the top and bottom for you.
I also use 4mp, a 6" x 4" picture will use about 2mp (6" x 300dpi) x (4" x 300dpi)) but no need to resize your pictures, Boots will do that for you.
Boots do not squash the image to fit 6" x 4".

I was told by my local branch that a new offer of £5 for 50 prints is running until 2nd April.
Whats happens after that who knows?
I got charged £5 for the 1st 50 prints and then 15p each for the remaining 70 on my CD at London Bridge day before yesterday.
I would have got all irrate about it and said it should be 10p each for the whole order but decided I couldn't be bothered after the assistant asked if I wanted 'a CD of this CD' - I'd given her a CD-RW :help:
Still £15.50 for 120 great quality prints is still great value.

Do you have to take the photos in on a CD? Won't they accept a memory card?

They will be on til May 11th if it's the thing I think your on about. Any reason why we couldn't put something on here about it? When the time comes surely it helps to get people through the doors and buy stuff?

As far as I know they do accept memory cards. I took a compact flash card in when the offer was on at the end of last year (I think).
I also kept backups of all my images.
is ther an offer on at the moment as i have about a hundred prints to do? if not where else would be cheapest?

Regards,
Sil I asked in Boots yesterday, and yes it has been extended again, until at least the end of April.
They said it has been very popular, and may stay for good.
Went to the one in Liverpool town centre today and it's still on there. 51 pictures for a lovely £5.10.
They also had the leafletts in store with the 50 for £5 advert on, which I have never been able to get before. If you can get some of these and you don't have a Boots close by Asda will price match with the ad
I love Boots
Bry
Anyone know if this is still on?
If you got the vouchers for 50 prints for £5 there is no valid till date on them it just says see details in store, on the otherhand if you got the leaflet with 30 free prints on then this is valid till 30th June.
Hope that helps.
Bry
Is this still available? Dont want to make a wasted trip :-)
Cheers

Donegall Place definitely does it (got some done there twice). Forestside and Park Centre definitely don't do it.
HTH.

The assistant in the Reading branch today said the 10p 50+ offer was on all summer.
Just got my 58 prints back from Boots and thought Id share my opinion too :-)
Good deal for 10p a print - no denying that
BUT
I have to say that bearing in mind I have previously used Jessops & blueyonder online, they are no where near the quality provided by those two companies.
The paper is much thinner (giving a home printed feel) and the pics didnt have the same crystal clear sharpness of Blueyonder and Jessops either.
Dont get me wrong Im still happy with my Boots prints but bearing in mind someone above says that Jessops are doing £4.99 for 50 prints then that seems to be a better all round bet to me
