It was wet yesterday so I suppose comfort shopping is acceptable.

Do as I did when I first got mine, Set the thing to auto and progress from there.. :dork:

Whatever you do make sure you know how to work the more advance settings before you take wedding pictures or other events where there isn't a second chance.. ;)

Believe me the EOS 300D is quite a milestone in the next generation digital cameras.. :)

When your credit card has got over shock of buying the camera get yourself a decent lens from 7DayShop (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372).. :n0rty:

Then you are really getting into it.. :D Example here (http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~tprocter/quad.jpg)

IMO this is much better than the manual here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1579905897/thedvdforums-21)

My tip: Don't try and use it with the 50mm f1.4 for naughty self pics unless you have extremely long arms.
Erm, I may have shared too much.....

Do you know the basics of photography first ? Such as the effects of varying shutter speed, aperture and ISO speed? If not I suggest you get a book from the library and start from there. Once you know what you are trying to do read the manual and the various settings will fall into place. Otherwise things like the 'Tv' mode will be meaningless jargon :D

I do have an understanding of these, but will be reading up more!
