View Full Version : Fujitso-Siemens Pocket LOOX 720 vs. iPaq H5550
Hi,
I was just wondering which handheld is better in your opinion and why out of the Fujitso-Siemens Pocket LOOX 720 and the iPaq H5550! The LOOX 720 is cheaper and appears to have greater functionality, but the iPaq is more popular and I'm thinking there must be something missing in the LOOX 720 if more people are going for the iPaq.
Appreciate the help... thanks!
I've got a h5550 and it's very good. However, it is now discontinued and is of the older ipaq design (can take add-on packs) - which is either a pro/con depending on what expandability you want/preference of what it looks like.
128MB base RAM, 400MHz PX255 Intel processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SD slot, Add-on slot.
I believe the replacement HP is the hx4700 (available in both 64MB and 128MB form).
The Loox 720 is a much better machine; like Adam says the HP5550 is an older model - the HP4705 is the one you should be comparing it with. They both run WM2003SE which allows for landscape format, and both have the new VGA screens, so 4x the res of the 5550. The bluetooth and wireless will be more stable and battery friendly on the newer models, and they both have faster CPUs. The HP4705 has a huge 4" screen and a touchpad instead of a cursor, but the Loox 720 has a 1.3mp camera and is smaller. It also has consumer IR unlike the HP.
Thanks guys... didn't even know the HP4705 existed and that H5550 was that old... will be looking into that now!!
Cheers!
