As suggested by the Moderators, there is now a single thread for all Xbox Pes4 related cup / tournaments.
I'll update the first post later with all necessary links / draws etc.

I'd just like to reiterate that the majority of us feel you do a great job stevie. I've enjoyed playing in every competition so far and was glad when you mentioned PES5 as it means you have no intentions of stopping what you do now.

I'd just like to say thanks for all the comments over the past couple of days, and while i'm a bit peeved at the moment, I have no intention of jacking it in.

And a HUGE thank you - Liverpool at last! :D I say that from a supporters angle, I'm actually pretty rubbish with them on Pro Evo, but hey, looking forward to the challenge!

I'd have probably kicked you out by now just because you are annoying me and I'm not even the one running it. Just be grateful that someone is actually running a league and doing a good job too.

How exactly can you call Stevie lazy? Have you played in every PES4 league and cup since it was started? There must have been thousands of posts in the threads and hundreds of results to post and tables to update. All you can do is gripe. Why not gripe at your opponent that didn't want to play your cup game?
If you don't like your treatment then don't play, alternatively set up your own PES4 league and see how much hassle it can be.
We're not 'puckering up to anyone's rear end', we just appreciate the work that has been done over the last few months.

Well if you want to organise it lets see you do it for a cup. I would imagine it takes 5-6 hours a week (being conservative).
There's a difference between appriciation and arse kissing.
Boys, let's just leave it. Not sure if Harsin meant they've had reports about our threads (can't see how, this is the first issue I think we've had) or competition threads in general but let's not fan the flames and risk getting it all shut down.

Why not ban the guy from running competitions on your forum because he's created the problem here. As far as I can see I've done nothing to break the terms and conditions of this forum yet you're coming down on me.

Right - you're getting a 24hr cooling off period from this forum. If your attitude doesn't improve it'll be permanent.

It's a shame because I was doing well in my first season in the Conference and I fancied my chances against the more established players.

I think we just post in here - we'll just have to be implicit about which comp we are talking about if we are involved in more than 1.

Sincere apologies but I'm having major problems with my xbox at the moment, just doesn't seem to want to connect to my router although the net works. I hate letting people down but it looks as if I am going to. After a most enjoyable season last year I was looking forward to this but connection has been a nightmare. I will not sign up for another season until I'm certain this is sorted.

I quite keen not to lose out because of this, I'm sure you know from your records that I have played every match in my 3 seasons so far, and I am also pushing for the title in the Championship.
Im happy to play this week before the deadline, but I am concerned that cheese has not been too forthcoming in getting this match played and so it may hit the deadline unplayed.

Apologies, due to sharing the connection with the family I was only allowed 5 minutes to play the remaining game with MrSpoons (which we missed out on again :doh: ) so that game was double what I was allotted, my family can be so generous!!! Tomorrow should be fine for the second leg, how about 10pm.
For the other guys I've left to play in the league it looks like I will be free and on live from 10.30pm tomorrow.

i turned you down twice because i was waiting for someone else i had arranged to play !
if you had a headset on i would have joined you even if it was for a short practice but you weren't and we couldn't have a natter to explain this !
i know some people don't like to talk late at night due to children or wives moaning but at least you can actually let someone know if they can't play a full game and / or if there are any lag issues.
play tonight from 6pm.....dont't panic, you will easily beat me 'cos i am playing crap at the mo !!
For the other guys I've left to play in the league it looks like I will be free and on live from 10.30pm tomorrow.

If you check the general forum and one about Royal Mail, you will see plenty of evidence of him/her throwing his/her weight around without reasonable debate - it appears in his opinion that his opinion is the only right one and anyone else is a fool :(

Thanks for the games, not sure what happened in the first, just seemed to find loads of space and was lucky to score from most of my shots.
Second game was a corker, I went in the lead, then you clawed it back, to take the lead. Then I pull it back again 4-4 and there was total chaos in both boxes with Ronaldo and Ronaldino both missing open goals. Well played. :thumbs:

My first defeat of the season :cry: I was begining to think I could go all season undefeated, thanks for bringing me back down to earth :razz: When you switched formation I pretty much lost all hope then had my two closest chances of the match!
That just leaves Spenny8 and 5 minutes of Mrspoons's time, when can next you play? I'm around all day tomorrow and only have the hours of 9-11pm booked with CSI but that is it. Let me know and I can finish off my season, hopefully in style :thumbs:

I use the default formation bar moving Duff far out on to the left wing, half way between the half way line and the edge of the box on the line. I then swap Duff over with Robben so I have Robben on the wing and Duff in the middle. I then brig in Gujohnsen (sp?) for Drogba and Cole in for someone (can’t remember who!) on the right hand side.
I occasionally bring in Mutu for one of the forwards and alternate the midfield a little depending on how they are and injuries but I’ve found this setup creates a lot of space and its only my appalling finishing that’s stopping me getting 5 or more :D
Its funny tho – I’ve been practicing with a mate with Chelsea for a couple of weeks. Each game was close but I couldn’t crack his team wide open like I can with other teams. A few days ago I try adjusting the default formation just a smidgen and now its me leading each of the games and I can’t stop scoring
Its just a shame I realized this so late on in the season as I can’t do anything to challenge for anything as with my current vein of form I could have hit the top 3 :cry:

Its maddening isn’t it? There are so many good things about the game, but so many tiny flaws that really get up your nose and frustrate. AI flaws with keepers and running along side passes, poor forward AI leading to far too many offside decisions and button lag even when hosting games (so its software not net issues)…
…but at the same time it feels so much like football, little touches etc make seems so real and when things come off like they should make the game so damn satisfying.
Damn you Konami, I hate you :mad: :D

First game very even. Could have gone either way, with cheese probably shading it on chances. Both goals from headers (one from a corner which was quite unexpected).
Second game looked nil nil all the way and Cheese would have got the draw he needed for the title. 1-84 mins not much to write home about, delvecchio missing the usual 1 yard chances and my defenders forced into a few last gasp tackles (and fouls). 85 mins cheese is denied a penalty that would have been given in many other games. I run the length of the field (as far away from that dodgy decision as possible) and cross it in for Montella to...you guessed it HEAD home. 2 mins left to go. Cheese attacks from the kickoff, puts some great passes together and his striker (think it was adriano) is one on one with my keeper....and my keeper saves! Final whistle.
Thanks for the games, I'm sorry for the late winner and the last gasp fouls.
It's been one helluva great (and at times, lucky) season.

I cant believe how tolerant everybody is being with this guy he is winding evrybody up not to mention the poor guy who spends a lot of time administrating this thread. Went 3-1 up in the first game and I knew somehow that I'll conceed lots more. Bloody defence was useless, simple header out which was missed and dropped nicely to the feet of Ronaldhino! :brickwall
The second game the my team was absolutely abysmal, the touch, the passing was simply awful and credit to you for taking advantage! Defence was asleep, holes all over the place!

Spenny8 for you to have any chance of the title, you need to thrash RH67 in both your games and hope the MrSpoons does the same.
I'll be glad when this seasons complete. 2 of the divisions have finished with only 6 teams remaining, which is very disappointing, especially for the players left in those divisions.
Next season should be a cracker though!! 2 good sized divisions drawn randomly, with established players who can be relied upon to see the season through to completion.
My tips for the end of season playoffs :-
League A - Smiller, Scottwilson82, Gunner & SaintM
League B - Kronik, Jelly, Mattwild & Fsheehan
Serla & Slocombe also look a bit tasty in the cup, so they could be strong in the league.

That was quite the scrappy affair, I'd played a couple of games earlier this evening and everything seemed to be going wrong which had put me in a really bad mood. As a result at first all I was trying to do was hold onto the lead I had, and doing a really bad job of it! You could have easily scored three goals in that first half.
Anyway with that result I think that makes me League 1 Champion :clap: :clap: And I look forward to coming back and seeing if I can prove myself in the Championship at some point in the future.

Wasn't really expecting any kind of result out of these games considering the calibre of my opponent (Congratulations on your league victory). Have to admit the free kick in the first game was a complete fluke, though the one in the second was wholy intentional. Had a couple of strange moments when it just seemed to freeze though, in the first game just before I had a couple of corners and more importantly it completely froze me out for a couple of seconds in the second half, when it came back to life you had scored, which is weird because I've never had that happen before, though I get the feeling something similar happened to you for my third goal in the second game :shrug: Anyway cheers for the games and bring on the semi final!!! All this is making me wish I'd signed up for next season :cry:

Yeah well played mate. I just couldn't manage to put any sort of move together in both those games and when you went two up in the 2nd I was pretty much done for. For your third goal I just couldn't move my players until you were in my box and then you scored :( Two quality free kicks tho :thumbs: Anyway good luck in the semis.

My away leg was fine until after half time and then the players lost all control, the worst I've had. They were doing things I wasn't even asking.
After the pause when we resumed it had got better!
Apologies for putting Aimar out of the first game but it wasn't dirty.
I take it you're happy enough with the 1st game - you never think of the lag isssue when you're the home team. Sorry but the mic is too far to stretch from my PS2 controller. Now I realise you may have been trying to signal me at half time?

Thought I did enough with the goal but my defence let me down on the set play. Good goal from Duff from you, it hit the post and curled in!
Good games matey although we couldn't really do much with Chelsea's "Quality" :lol: . I can't believe Drogba and Makalele missed right at the death! Cech on your side did well and none of the rebounds went my way.

Well, it was as dull as we predicted especially that first game.
Thought I'd struggle after you grabbed the away goal but that star man Drogba :gag: popped up.
My Drogba and especially yours could've scored 3 or 4 in each game if his name started with R and ended in onaldo :doh:

Cheers mate, those were some excellent matches. Henry is just a bit too good, miss players like him this season with Roma, I actually have to think about playing football! My second goal in the 2nd game was gutting for you, sorry to make you sit through them in the replays, but goals like that make me laugh. :)
That must be a bug when the connection isn't great, as it's happened to me and people I've played a few times.

You have to give him credit, he's worked out their defence this season. The AI for them is atrocious (usually) and I usually tear the defence apart with Arsenal, but I just couldn't get through. Then I got frustrated and started piling forward, and his wingers finished me off.
