I've pre-ordered this game and want to give it a go playing online, maybe playing a few of you guys in a few weeks time. I was just wondering i bought a PS2 pad converter and its plugged into a usb hub. It says it's a highs speed hub but when i plug my ps2 converter into it, an icon flashes up at the bottom saying 'hi speed device plugged into non high speed device' or words to that effect
It then starts bleeping midway through games and my control pad becomes really unresponsive. Do i need a new usb hub for the game? or is it my ps2 converter thing?
Thanks for any help :)
Ben
I am no expert, and do not have one of these pads myself, but I am guessing that your PC might be USB1?
But if it was that old, then i wouldn't have thought it would run PES5
Do you have the packaging for the hub? Does it have USB2 logo anywhere?

Which PS2 converter is it?
I have the double-ended (ooh err) one from Play and it works awesomely.

me 2 i have no problems with mine.
only problem ive got is the idiot using it
Try plugging the adapter straight into the USB port on your machine. If that's fine then your hub doesn't support USB2.0 and you'll need a new hub or just swap your hub and joypad when playing.
I played PES4 with the same adapater plugged into USB1.1 for a stint in Season 3 and it's just not fast enough.

So that's your excuse! ;)

Mine did that when I plugged it in to my Dell 8400. A little odd as all the USB slots are 2.0? :?:
Moved it to a different slot and never had that error. Very odd. Mind you, i've never installed the correct drivers - should I?

Even if you think you have USB 2 ports on your PC, they may not be running at USB 2 speed, particularly if you upgraded from vanilla XP to the later service packs that do support it
Check in Device Manager for 'USB2 Enhanced Host Controller'
If it is not there, and you are sure your PC supports USB2, then uninstall all the USB controllers from Device Manager, and reboot. The ports should then be redetected at the correct speed.

That looks OK to me, and should be running at USB2. My Device Manger looks the same - you have the 'normal' controllers that are there whatever USB speed you are running at, and the Enhanced controller will then enable all these ports to run at USB2. So all should be well
