ROFL

I've just heard some more

Atfer Superman gets hit by the bus, and the public go to challenge Zod & Clan

at 1hr 42mins and 2sec a member of the public shouts "Yeah, I know some Judo. C'mon lets go".

This is the funniest film ever :D

I particularly like all the Marlboro adverts scattered throughout Superman II - especially in light of the [semi] anti-smoking message from the first film. Has anyone ever bothered to count them?

Anti-smoking message? Sorry, missed this when I watched it. Could you explain?

It's a bit tenuous perhaps, but there's a scene where Superman X-rays Louis Lane's lungs after she's been smoking, and tells her she hasn't got lung cancer yet.

Plus, (harking back to when I was a nipper in 1978) I recall the image of Superman being used to promote an anti-smoking campaign. I even had a poster with Superman saying "with my X-ray vision I can see the damage done to ... blah blah. That's why <u>I don't smoke!</u>" - or something like that.

Ahhhh the back cover of Star Wars Weekly always had an ad with Superman battling the evil Nick-o-teen.

oh no ! I've wasted my life !

Yeah, Superman II has a pretty good sense of humour, which IMO makes it better than the first film :) Also, General Zod is probably the best movie bad guy ever. Even if the costumes are a little "fruity."

Of course, they took the comedy too far in the third film...ah well.

Yep, comedy in the middle of a big battle!!!

Superman1 is leagues ahead of the original, much more real than Lester's trademark humour.

Yes, and does anyone remember the Hulk "brush your teeth" posters as well?

Folks, Warner Brothers has asked Richard Donner if he wants to do Superman 2 the way he originally intended to.
He did around 90% of footage for the film and was then promptly fired, all the model work that was completed and all his scenes were re-done. The live action was inferior by richard lester who had no talent for a superman movie and the special effects cried out "we cut corners" with the dolls.
Its a shame because superman 2 - the richard donner cut, just needs to be spliced together, a soundtrack put on and it would equal the first film in my opinion..or maybe better it.

Make your voice known at the Home Theater Forum. WB is VERY CLOSE to re-releasing this film but they will only do it with richard donners expertise on the job.

Just been watching this movie again!
My favourite 'extra shouts bizarre statement' moment is when the 3 baddies are doing the super-wind thing and a woman and a man's respective hairpieces get blown off their heads!
Woman: Oh my hair!
Man: Your hair!? What about mine!

That thread now spans about two years over it's few pages and worth a look.

I think the comedy in Superman II is regrettably down to accident rather than design. My personal favourite extra is the incredibly English kid who asks General Zod to "please put his daddy down"...despite wearing a full red-neck ensemble and obviously supposed to be from somewhere deep in the heart of the US.

I used to like Supe II as a kid and now it just seems pretty ridiculous... :D
