Looks an iteresting forthcoming Liteon release. According to "what video and TV" magazine it is multi format (+ and -), DiVX certified, has a DV link and reasonably compact. And just under £100. Nearly exactly what I need (shame it is an anologue tuner, but I have Sky+ so no biggy)

Any info on its release date, whether you will be stocking it, specs, etc greatfully recieved.

Thanks in advance

Hi SPR

Liteon tell me this product is due for release in December. RRP
should be as you stated around £100.

I'd like to add that Liteon don't always get their release date right so don't count on this 100% for Christmas availability.

Cheers Steve. I can wait a month or two after xmas.

Are you planning to stock it? I will keep my eyes peeled on your site/this thread if so.

Just a thought/warning.. I picked up a 1101 clone and it seems not to have RGB-in on the scart.

I can't believe there are still major brands launching new recorders in the UK without RGB in on SCART... Just maybe I have bad fw... but it's probably going back to the large retailer I got it from.

Apart from this omission it is fairly fast, very very easy to use, nice choice of recording modes... just basically seems great. Just RGB is a blocker for me. (dot crawl on sky recordings)

No RGB? That would kill it for me if it proves to be the case:(

Anyone got another suggestion for a recorder that does DiVX, has a DV link and is resonably cheap/good (<£150).

No reply from comet or liteon... (it was actually a proline dvdr700 which is a spitting image of a liteon 1101)

No joy on RGB so I packed it up ready to go back to shop since I have a note in writing (emaiL) saying RGB in is supported.. and it don't work so doesn't meet required spec.

Picked up a Tescos teknika DVDR05 - dark grey not silver, but based on Yamada 8400x.Don't think it's quite as well built as the proline, but
- it DOES do RGB in (although I don't think aspect switching works ok.. sigh... can't have everything)
- no "just fit" mode - and 4hr is definately lower resolution
- it still doesn't have nicam or freeview tuner
- But it was only £68 (tescos southampton had a few on the shelf)
- still has DV
- Much better editing approach
- Remote's a bit cluttered, UI not as clean, but more function.

Given it's a short term tool (I figure 2 years tops) thats excellent value for money though so looks like I'll keep this one.!

Comet confirmed the DVDR700 does have RGB in

"Please forgive my delay in replying to your e-mail whilst I investigated this matter with our technical team, who have confirmed that this product does not feature RGB input."

Shame as it's otherwise a very good unit.

I see the 1105 is up on the SVP site now. How long has it been there? I've been checking this thread regularly for updates, but nothing!
Anyhoo, does it really not have RGB? I can't believe any well respected manufacturer would leave that out, it would totally kill any idea of a purchase from me.
