My brother has just recieved one of these players in exchange for a faulty DK500, and when we watch an divx the playback is very jerky, to the point its unwatchable.

Cant seem to reslove this via the setup, any suggestions?

Bozman,
Regarding your stuttering playback. Google for a piece of software called Mpeg4modifier (or alternatively try here http://www.mpeg-playcenter.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4099) . I had this problem with some Divxs on my player (worked fine on PC)
You may need to unset a packed bitstream flag on your file & re-save it.

From the original Lafayette thread: http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=357851&page=5&pp=20&highlight=packed+bitstream

I had the same problem with some AVI files and now use MPEG4 Modifier to check whether the files have a packed bitstream before burning. Whenever I have used it, it has resolved the problem.
