View Full Version : Not too impressed with wrapping.
Got my order yesterday which came to over 50 quids worth of discs but were they were wrapped in a polythene sack rather than a box.Of course all the spindle tubs were smashed.Luckily theres no damage to the discs (well hopefully) but doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence for future orders ! Some things are ok to wrap in plastic bags but dont think its very suitable for large spindles of 100 discs .

Sorry to hear you have received damaged items.
If you email me on steve@svp.co.uk we will replace the damaged tubs, and also investigate which of our packets have dispatched the goods with insufficient packing materials to ensure their safe delivery.

Thats really weird. I've always thought SVP's packing was packed by somebody with OCD. There's always been layers and layers of bubble wrap on my stuff and all my items were placed in a box. SVP's packing is the best i've seen.
Strange, like Gareth H I have always received excellent packaging from SVP.

Sometimes too good for me.. received a dvd writer the other day and it must have had about 20 quids worth of bubble wrap on it.. the bubble wrap was nearly the same size as my pc!
Just received a tub of 50 DVDs and there's enough bubble wrap to go twice round the equator.
Excellent packaging :thumbs:

Exact same thing has happened to me. 5 tubs of discs, each one smashed due to the crap packaging. The discs seem ok though.

I've always had loads of bubblewrap on orders like others.
Always comes in handy.Saves me from buying any!
I'd agree with orders for discs should be boxed.Mine always have been.
I enjoy getting my SVP order through, armed with a pair of scissors I feel like a hacker trying to crack into the pentagon :)
I'll add my vote for getting OCD packaging from SVP :thumbs:
I ordered a few discs last week and some paper etc, and it all came boxed, heavily armed with airbags and bubblewrap. Excellently packaged, always has been.
i have been buying from SVP for a number of years , and have never had an issue with packaging..................

Just to make you guys aware, I ordered 150 DVD-Rs (3 tubs of 50) and a TDK headphone set.
The tubs were bubble wrapped up and placed in a couriers polythene sack along with the headphone set which had no bubble wrap around it.
I usually receive my orders boxed up but this is the first time I've received my order packaged this way.

Yeah i'm a bit confused about the packing. The order that came money was OCD packed. It was way way too much as usual but thats :thumbs: ! The order was actually missing one spindle, a quick email to SVP and it was replaced next day. However, the spindle was packed in minor bubble wrap in the courier bag this time. It's def down to the packer. Maybe Steve could clarify.
As others have indicated never had a problem with packaging for any of my orders.
Loads of bubble wrap and boxed.
Why? You haven't mentioned anything as being damaged....
Beacause it's clearly not sufficient packaging. Just because there were no damages this time, it doesn't mean there won't be next time.

It hasn't put me off SVP at all as their customer service is second to none when items go faulty.
Had an order from SVP delivered yesterday.
Well packed,Recorded delivery,very fast.

I've had problems for the first time with discs. No bubblewrap used, and the discs holders are smashed. Also part of order. abiet a tiny part missing.
But that said, I've placed many orders and its the first time I've had a problem with damaged goods. Also I placed order with 99p shipping, and got it next day. I'll send a email with my details.

Well how long ago was my last post. Just over an hour ago, and I've already had two replies to my email. And all this on a Friday night.
As I said to them, I tell you what, you guys amaze me with your customer service.
You deserve awards, I really dont see how anyone can beat it!
