Use a Pioneer 110d and Verbatim 16x dvd-r discs (silver topped) + RecordNowMax if I'm burning an image or something else I've created.

Out of the last 10 or so tubs of 25 I've used, I'm averaging 3 discs failing on disc finalisation per tub. Just tried burning something to disc and 100% fine. Second disc stalled on disc finalisation (drive stays powered up for a few minutes, then powers down a bit, then back up and you have to reboot the pc as the drive won't ever stop). Second attempt at the same thing with a new disc was 100% fine.
All burnt at minimum, so 4x or less?

Only ever had burning problems with the Verbatim 8x dvd-rs with my previous Pioneer after it was a year old and became hit and miss with all software. All 8x discs I've used have worked fine.

I think those Verbatim's are MCC's. If so its rare for a MCC disc to have problems with inconsistancy. Have you got the latest firmware?

If they aren't the MCC dye, then its more likely a dodgy disc causing the problems.
