Any chance of having a New Year Sale?

Hi TCS
It's difficult for us to have a sale because we are so cheap all the year round.
Some retailers could offer 50% off the products we sell and we would still be cheaper than them :)
We've got the new website taking over from the old one any day now. Lets see how that gets on and then we'll see if we can do a few good promotions to get the year started right.

Hi Steve
Ok that's fair enough.I agree in that your prices are cheap all year round.
Is it possible for you to offer cheap P&P on small items?
I was going to buy a pack of rechargeable batteries but the P&P came up as £2.99 which was more than the 4 pack of AA batteries!
Maybe you could offer say £1.50-£1.99 on less weighty items?

I think you need to consider the expenses of picking, packing and sending the item.
I'm guessing that 4 batteries in a blister pack and padded envelops weighs about 310g.
First class recorded delivery on that = £1.87. We have to add VAT to that. I also have to pay the person who's picked and packed it. In that instance only a few seconds but it has to accounted for.
The other issue to consider is how much Royal Mail loose and how long their deliveries sometimes take. The % lost or late on Royal Mail is huge compared to the couriers we use :(
Overall we do all we can to persuade customers to place orders with us that include a few different items. That's why we've added so many new catagories, many of them for consumables that people buy on a regular basis.
There are instances where a customer just needs 4 batteries and absolutely nothing else, and they will get the best deal by buying them in the high street or supermarket because of the savings on postage.
