i KNOW this is probably answered elsewhere cant be bothered to look:
My mate told he phoned richersounds and they said that HD-DVD's i:e Apollo 13 like on Playusa for 17:99 will play on NORMAL dvd players but wont look that much better....
BUT played on an upscaling player the difference is marginal as is the same difference when played on a PROPER HD-DVD player.
i cant understand that if this is so why release a film in 2 formats..MI:3 released both HD and normal R1 if they can play on the same player
