View Full Version : Online HD-DVD rentals?

Does anyone know if any of the online movie rental websites will be offering HD-DVDs? I've had a quick look around, but have found nothing.

Too early for the rental firms to think it worthwhile I guess. Unless the 360 HD player sells out and triggers a rush for HD films, the rental firms will probably be waiting for the PS3.

I recall that one of the big factors in the VHS/Betamax war was that VHS was the format adopted by the majority of rental businesses. It'd be a big coup for HD-DVD if the format proved popular with the rental firms. Does anyone know what the situation is with rental HD-DVD in the States?

The only others I have found (Tesco/OdeonDirect) are powered by Lovefilm.

Perhaps we should email and plead with them to increase their selection. I'm sure if more people rented from them it would be in their interest support the format more.

Just bought a PS3 and was hoping to rent a few blue-ray discs,I'm currently with lovefilm but their selection is poor.Anybody else joined in the online HD rental revolution in the last few months.

Amazon do, but the selection is quite small at the moment.

Really? They allways seemed to have added more on there pretty much whenever I look. They certainly put the new releases up when they're available.

That's pretty impressive as they seem to have European HD-DVD releases too.
