Has anyone watched or read a review of the newly released R2 DVD of Bette Davis's 'Of Human Bondage' via Eureka Videos? I'm particularly interested in finding out whether there was any restoration work carried out on the film due to its age and what the transfer is like?
It's good that a UK Company has decided to start to release one of the many Bette Davis films onto DVD in R2 but I would like to see the same superb restoration given to these films as has been the case with Bette Davis's 'Now Voyager' on DVD in Region 1.

What about the version of this movie starring Kim Novak and Laurence Harvey. I love that film

Certainly can't be many DVD fans in R2 interested in Bette Davis or similar genre films of this era as finding reviews on the internet of the few films that have been released is near on impossible :brickwall

Amazon.co.uk's official review includes the following:
On the DVD: Of Human Bondage is presented on disc in a beautiful hiss-free restoration with digital remastering, allowing us to relive some innovative direction.
This film can also be got very cheaply on R1 from the USA. Don't know about picture quality there, though there are no complaints among the few customer reviews of the dvd at amazon.com
If anyone has more info, I'd certainly be interested as this is one i've thought of buying but held off so far.
