Yo,

Just came across this, don't know if it's old news or not, but I'm certainly pleased about it and look forward to it:

Very welcome news. Saw William Hurt in "Dark City" the other night and had to check if there was a "Kiss...." release anywhere.

Cheers!

I can't believe this is still unavailable, especially considering how well regarded it is.

Yes, I was talking with a friend yesterday about unreleased 80s classics, specifically Howard the Duck and, erm....oh.

It does remind me to pick up a few more William Hurt, though, (I've only managed one since my 2002 post) think it'll be Accidental Tourist next.

He's good in Gorky Park - his English accent (odd, since he's playing a Russian but since most of the supporting cast is English and it's the next best foreign thing for Americans) is excellent.

He's utterly wonderful in "Broadcast News", nailing the character perfectly and not caring a damn that he's incredibly unsympathetic.

I enjoyed his turn as Arkady Renko, and again it's been a fair while since I've seen it, so time for a re-match there. Broadcast News is excellent (the best James Brooks film, for my money) and turned me into a Holly Hunter fan for a while.
I'll add Ken Russell's Altered States to the pile, William Hurt's character is really quite horribly unsympathetic and his friends all yell at each-other, but they're a very engaging crew and Hurt's first lead role is a good one.

I love the piece of music Wally Badarou wrote for this film called Novella Das Nove.

I remember watching this a looonggg time ago and being surprised to find it was a lot different to what i expected as a 10 yr old boy.

"Mummy, why are those men kissing?"

"*scream* Now what are they doing? Is he hurting the other man?"

Yup, it was along those lines alright.

I remember this movie as my local video shop had a sticker on the front saying "FREE WITH ANY OTHER CRAP VIDEO". Never did see it!
