Prince at Wembley Arena, (Parade tour I think)
Was second row from the front.
Expensive at the time, guess it's small feed these days.
£45 for one of Madonna's gigs at Earls Court last year. Well worth it :-)

I guess £96.00 to see Liza Minelli is my highest ever, but was definately worth the money. Was my valintines gift. So this was the best ever concert.

One of the highest so far on this thread would be my $145.08 that I paid TICKETMASTER (that's right, not to a tout) for One ticket to see U2 in Chicago on October 15th last year.
While this amount may be surpassed, I very much doubt that anyone beating me will feel that they got less value for money than me, given that I was in Newcastle on the night in question, and no one bought the ticket from me, girlfriend over there didn't want to go, and certainly didn't want to treck out just to sell the ticket (oh no, that would have been way too much effort for just $150!)
Mark
well, apart from Glastonbury (!), it'll prolly be Jamiroquai at the Shepherds Bush Empire - £40 from a tout. Me mates got their tickets just before they sold out....
I've never bought from a tout so I'd guess the highest I've paid for a single gig would be £32 for REM at the MEN a couple of years back.
Based on the evidence of my ticket stubs mine would have to be RUSH at the NEC in 1992 ......
£15.40 (inc. £1.40 booking fee !!!)
Then again I haven't been to a concert since Oct. 1993 ;)

just over £40 for Roxy Music last year at the NEC,
quite a poor performance, so was disappointed that I paid that as it was either Roxy or Yes, who were apparently AMAZING!!!
But I did see Louis Theroux there!!
£35 for Neil Young next month, plus £4 admin to ticketweb. This was after I had tantrumed at ticketmaster's site who wanted £35 for the ticket plus £4 admin plus £3 handling
I paid £25.00 to see Bon Jovi @ Millenium Stadium, Cardiff and Paid £928.00 to see Wrestlemania 18 this year. Hopefully going to next years aswell.
Cann't remember the highest I've paid but the best deal I ever got was when I went to the Manchester Appollo at the last minute to try and get a ticket for Ozzy on his "Ultimate Sin" tour.
I bought a ticket from a tout for £10 (less than the ticket price!!) and it was front row centre  :D
I guess he was just glad to sell it as the show was due to start in a few minutes. That is the only time i have ever gone to a concert without a ticket too.
BTW:damn good show too
£50 to see Aerosmith at the Tokyo Dome a couple of months ago.

Good gig ??
A cool £3000 for four Bruce Springsteen tickets - Bramhall Lane, Shefiield, 1988.
Actually, that's not the whole story. I booked the tickets via the credit card of my mate's dad (I didn't have a credit card back then and my mum and dada have never had one).
Imagine his face when he got the bill! Administrative cock-up which was sorted out pretty quickly. I think the tickets were about £25 each plus booking fee.
Superb concert by the way.

So, can anyone top $145.08?
I've never bought from a tout so I'd guess the highest I've paid for a single gig would be £32 for REM at the MEN a couple of years back.
That's mine, too - but the actual face value was £27.50 (which doesn't sound too bad now, but I remember thinking it was outrageous at the time.)

Yeah, although I was right at the back of a venue that holds 40,000+. It was kind of strange because the crowd seemed really into it, yet they only made the noise of about 1,000 people. It was still at great show, but I think I would prefer to see them over here.

Well, I didn't pay cos I won the tickets but I went to see U2 in the Astoria London last year and there were Americans who had travelled over on the offchance offering £3,000 for tickets
I would have sold but they didn't give us tickets until we were inside the venue :-(

I was at that concert, they were on form that night.
Most I've paid is £40 for Springsteen tickets for the RDS in Dublin. Face value was around £28-30. Well worth it though, four or five rows from the front.

$50 to see OASIS/Black Crowes in NYC, worth every cent, even if i left before the crowes came on, hung round outside and came back in for the encore with noel
Biggest waste of money was £30 to see The Corrs at the MEN to ticket*******
we got them well in advance, and we had the worst seats in the place, I would have gladly swapped with anyone in the place. We were top tier, back row, and the seats were actually behind the stage to the right. All i saw was a lighting rig!

i think £190 to see springsteen tomorrow at wembley!

I went to that one!!
The most I paid was £28 to see Pantera in Wolverhampton on the Far Beyond Driven tour.
Metallica in Paris 1992
£89 all-in for a two day trip
Best Metallica show I've ever seen due to the superb venue (Palais Omnisports,Bercy).Great sound, and no problem getting to the front.
£190 was 4 2 so you should be ok, just browse ebay, oh but youve left it 2 late :)

Paid £60 for a standing ticket from a tout outside Earls Court for U2 in 2001. Haggled the price down from £80.
Was worth it I thought as the tickets were £45. Don't know if i'd pay any more to go and see a band.
£45 to go and see Brian Wilson do "Smile" at the Royal Festival Hall next Feb. Box seat, which should be nice....
Steve
£30 to see Eddie Izzard in december. I`d have been better just waiting for the DVD to come out :(
I paid about £55.00 for Bowie Tickets for the November gigs-but hey its Bowie right!!!

Have been on the guestlist for more gigs than ive paid for, and stadium acts are not my cup of tea. Therefore £14 to see Sigur Rós.

?? Why ?? The tickets couldn't have been more than £15. I saw them last year in Leeds for free but the tickets were £12.
Most I paid was £30 for a Pantera gig at the Brixton Academy (I think it was the Far Beyond driven tour as well) from a tout. I had a free ticket my mate didn't so we split the cost.

Tickets for that strokes gig were about £8 iirc!
£60 from a tout, if I hadn't arrived so late I'd have sold mine! They only played fo like 40 mins, that's £1.50 a min!!!
I was *this* close to blowing £150 on a second row ticket for Björk's Opera House gig last year, but bottled it...
Wish I hadn't now.... :(

When was that, about 20 odd years ago?
Taking into account conversion charges and bank charges, Alizée in Rouen this October has set me back about £46.
Otherwise, Roxy Music at Sheffield Arena in 2001 - it was about £35 after booking fee, etc, I think.
Excluding festivals:
REM Brixton earlier this year was about 38 pounds. For a single band, that is far too expensive. Also, I think I paid $75 (inc TM booking fee) to see Rush in the US last year. Some prices this year have been expensive, Ryuchi Sakamoto/Morelenbaum's were 25 pounds at the Union Chapel. Radiohead are 28.50 pounds for Earl's Court too.
I might be getting old but anything above 20 pounds for a single band is taking the wee a little.....demand and supply......
If only we could download ourselves to gigs..... :-)
Anthony.

I'm sure I posted this earlier in the thread. It was £28 plus fees which seemed pretty steep to me at the time
