Excellent picture quality and some wonderful packaging from Carlton. Good to see more Powell and Pressburger coming out on DVD.

I hope so. That might include another Scorsese commentary track and perhaps one with Jack Cardiff. Mind you, the Carlton disc is an excellent release for the time being. I've still to watch it right through, but the first hour or so was virtually free of print damage and film grain. Contrast could be slightly improved though. Good stuff.
Yep, it's true, Criterion are working on it, and it'll have a Michael Powell/Martin Scorsese track just like Black Narcissus (useless trivia: those two are the first ever director commentary tracks recorded).
Jack Cardiff won't be on it, though - he was only involved in three P&P films.
Just let me know when u are selling Tristan!!:)

I luv Black Narcissus, the Red Shoes, Matter of Life and Death.
oh, and Peeping Tom...

Has this been reissued?
I picked up a dvd of this for 3.99 at MVC last Autumn and I wasn't too impressed by the picture quality. I suppose the price it was going for should have told me something
