Don't know if anyone will be that bothered, but HMV has 'Child's Play 2' and '3' at £12.99 each in their 'sale'. Bare bone discs featuring just trailer, 16:9 anamorphic transfer and stereo sound. If, like me, you think the Chucky flicks are good fun, it's the best we'll get!

None of the "Child Play" films were ever banned, despite what the Mirror might claim.

I think what really happened is that video shops just reacted to the newspaper claims and took all their copies off the shelf. I don't know why they chose childs play 3, from what I can remember it's a pretty bog standard horror film, although I expect it's title had the best effect in newspaper stories.

If Child's Play 1 is the same as the R1 version then it'll be 4:3 Pan & Scan... :(

Presumably it will be the same as the region 4, which is in 1.85:1 and also coded for R2 according to Ezydvd:

yes but they werent banned, shop owners had the choice on whether to remove them ... the ghost train scene in the film was a very bad excuse for putting the blame somewere.

I guess Childs Play sequels will now all be comedys like Childs Play 4 was :(

New Line have now bought the rights to Chucky from Universal. So expect 'The seed of Chucky' soon.

Never cared for parts 1 to 3 but the Bride of Chucky is a trash masterpiece!

I read an interview with Jennifer Tilly in Hotdog last month and it sounds like the next one is a certainty - she's in it as both the doll and herself.

well that blows my chances of getting it on HD DVD then... but i'd still definitely buy the SD version, it's one of my favourite movies
