Hellraiser Trilogy

If this includes an anamorphic uncut version of Hellraiser III then I'm sold already :D

Also hope they release the new SE Halloween II seperate from that 8 disc box set as it's the only one I'd want from it (already own Halloween x2 & H20, the rest I don't want as they go off on one from the original story)

Shame they couldn't put out all 6 Hellraiser movies :) :dork:

CrazyHorse 29-04-2004 01:41

Magic

Hope this is the Hopkins/Attenborough thriller - been on my wishlist for a while.

SIMON ADEBISI 29-04-2004 05:43

I wonder will they ever release Cut And Run over here? Probably not.:(

If its uncut, I may be tempted to part with my R4 DTS copy :D

rgfinch 29-04-2004 11:20

No sign of Two Lane Blacktop. The R1 won't play properly on my machine so I'm desperate for it in R2.

Whether it's uncut or not will surely be dependent on whether the existing release from Buena Vista is deleted or not.

You'd think with the rights changing hands that the existing disc will have been removed from sale. But the rights might not have changed hands, a la Momentum allowing AB to use their Evil Dead 2 disc for the boxset of those films. So it might just be the existing BV disc in the boxset, which would be rather annoying.

I'm not too sure, but I think the BBFC changed their 'multiple versions not allowed' policy, so the uncut and theatrical (r-rated) versions could be for sale at the same time, which would be great assuming AB are indeed producing their own disc.

But I & II are still likely to be cut in the UK, particularly II which is heavily cut here.

Jowy 29-04-2004 11:41

Nooooo!!! They took 'Hannie Caulder' off the list, was supposed to be released this year! :oh-hum:

Nope, still here. That's not AB's complete list of future releases, just in addition to the 'In The Future' section on their website.

I already have I & II on R1 anyways, so I could either:

a) Buy the trilogy and swap the I & II discs over with my R1 set (and sell the R2 discs on eBay or something)
b) See if AB release III on it's own (just like I will with Halloween II)

I'll have to wait & see I guess

Cuts to Hellraiser 2 from Melonfarmers....
1987 UK film by Clive Barker.
The UK adopted the US R rated version for cinema release which is cut as follows:

The opening replay of Frank's (Sean Chapman's) final moments from Hellraiser (11s worth) has been replaced by a close-up of Pinhead saying We'll tear your soul apart.
The creation of Pinhead loses 7 shots totalling 6s. ie 2 shots of hooks digging into the flesh, 4 shots of a razor slitting his scalp and a shot of the final nail being driven deep into his skull.
55s has been deleted from Julia's (Claire Higgins') resurrection; 35s of razor slits, 16s of the victim crawling across the floor and 4s of Julia feeding from the victim's neck.
The transformation of Channard (Kenneth Cranham) into a cenobite suffers; a 2s loss of an injection of needles, 3s of cheese wire digging into his skin and 4s of a thing forcing its way into his mouth.
Kirsty's (Ashley Laurence's) encounter with Frank 2 cuts totalling 6s of Frank peeling the skin off his face and a 1s close-up of Julia's hand entering his back to rip his heart out.
Channard's hospital visit has a 1s cut showing a knife jamming itself into a patients forehead
Channard's battle with the Cenobites loses 3s of a female cenobite's spear wound in the throat and 8s of Pinhead having his throat cut.
The climatic scene of Channard's death has 2 cuts totalling 3s, ie a shot of his head being torn in half and his body spurting blood.
From a different source, additional cuts are described

The maggot-slicing scene on the bed is heavily cut, all slicing is eliminated
All of Tiffany's hallucinations are cut somewhat
The BBFC then imposed further cuts of 7s for the video release.

The video version loses 2s of a hand being severed in Channard's hospital visit scene.

I knew it was cut but not this much. Its a miracle theres anything left.:brickwall
