Giant Yukon FX3 Mountain bike - £299.95 @ Pauls Cycles

I found this bargain elsewhere but couldn't find it mentioned here.

I know there are some budding cyclists on here and I've ordered one myself! It gets some good reviews too!

Hope it helps someone!

if you put "discount box" in their search engine some good finds

a 10w halogen for under £20 seems a good deal

Edit****
missed the small print saying you need to order a bike as well, but if you are....

Saw this on another bargain related site, but didn't dare post due to the hordes of "I can get a sull suspension bike from Halfords for £80" waging war against the "No bike less than a £1000 is worth riding" posts.

This is a blinding bargain, you wont get a better full-suss for the money at the moment. I'd still take a hard-tail at this end of the budget, but even so the spec on this is very competative.

Pauls Cycles is very well regarded on many cycling sites as well.

I cant believe it but I have just bagged one of these as My GT is completely knackered after 12 years of riding and I need something to get me back out on the hills and paths of Cornwall

Great price, just a shame it's got mechanical as opposed to hydraulic discs, which, at the full RRP is unforgivable.
At 300 it's a bargain though!

I went for medium as I'm 5'9" and that's a 17" frame.

You could go for large which is 19" frame. Not sure that's big enough though??

GAry

its not a bad price, i'd still go hardtrail though.

http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/product...id=m1b4s2p1266

has far better components and for just a bit more is worth every penny.

What's the major difference in this one and the one you linked to?

i think you'd need a 21" (extra large?) frame. i'm 6'3 and i bought a 19" giant xtc a couple of years ago, went about 10 yards and immediately realised i should have got the larger bike - luckily the bike shop exchanged it. even with the bigger frame, the seat post is at full extension. i suppose it's pot luck to some extent if you're buying by mail order though...

All depends what you are riding though surely?

One is a hardtail the other is a full suspension XC bike. Can you not tell from the picture?

Just a bit more? nearer twice the price! £300 Vs £500.

Both still a good price though.

299.95 x 2 = 371.86

There's only about £72 difference. It's £371 not £500.

Very tempted by this offer but wondered what size would be best for me? I'm 5' 10" so wasn't sure whether the medium (17") or large (19") would be better? Any advice gratefully received

As you can tell I'm not really up on my bikes, just wanted a decent bike for the summer.

I am going to mostly be riding in parks and along country tracks so not sure what would be most suitable out of the two but I don't even know what a XC or hardtail is.

Have a look here; http://www.bikeradar.com/ if you want to get help making the right choice of bike to fit your needs, I find it very useful.
